  1. American Alligator by James Clark

    American Alligator by James Clark

The American alligator is the largest reptile in North America. The range of the American alligator includes all of the land along the banks of the Gulf of Mexico. They live primarily in swamps and marshes, but also in rivers, lakes, and smaller bodies of water. They can tolerate a reasonable degree of salinity, being occasionally found in brackish water around mangrove swamps, although they lack the buccal salt-secreting glands present in crocodiles.

Updated: November 23, 2025 by Jay to link to ZT's crocodile animations and sounds instead of using copies, to remove an unnecessary space in the animal info, to add configuration to allow it in freshwater tanks, to change the preferred object icon to match its preferred object of Water Lily, to show the preferred object tooltip for females and young, to have the animal not dislike more of its kind, to have it also like Water Reed and Tank Filter, to play sounds when it is picked up and put down, to have it play sounds at times when it doesn't but should, to increase the opportunities for ZT to see if it was hit by a tranquilizer dart, to have it not use land animations in certain cases when it is on water terrain, and to remove unnecessary files and configuration lines.

  2. Caribbean Flamingo by Gazza

    Caribbean Flamingo by Gazza

Caribbean flamingos live in lagoons, or lakes, where there is lots of mud and water. Flamingos use a variety of habitats: mangrove swamps, tidal flats, and sandy islands in the intertidal zone. The depth of the water is especially important, not only for feeding but for nesting. A flamingo's pink or reddish feather color comes from its diet, which is high in alpha and beta-carotene. Flamingos spend most of the day feeding, preening, resting, and bathing. They have good hearing and eyesight. In zoological settings, flamingos recognize their uniformed keepers among visitors.

Updated: November 22, 2025 by Jay to fix spacing in the animal info, to link to ZT's sounds instead of using copies, to have the preferred object's tooltip appear for females and young, to add a missing "[cCompatibleAnimals]" (but it was added where it would not affect what animals this likes and dislikes), to use the "run" animation for jumping since it does not have a jumping animation, to prevent this from crashing non-English versions of ZT, to allow ZT to check more often if the animal was hit by a tranquilizer dart, to have water animations be used in some cases where land animations were used while the animal was on water terrain, to play sounds when the animal is picked up, put down, or in a box, and to remove unnecessary files and configuration lines.

Updated: November 25, 2025 by Jay to fix spacing in the animal info, to link to ZT's sounds instead of having copies, to show the preferred object tooltip for the female and young, to not have the young configured as a jumper since it does not have jump animations, to have it be indifferent to any user made animal based on ZT's ostrich so that it does not stay happy when there are too many animals in the exhibit, to play ZT's ostrich sounds when the animal is picked up and put down, to give ZT more opportunities to see if it was shot by a tranquilizer dart, to play sounds in some cases where it was not but should have been, and to remove unnecessary files and configuration lines.

  4. Melanistic Zebra by redgolden

    Melanistic Zebra by redgolden

Wow, A Melanistic Zebra! They certainly are rare. The Melanistic zebra is a genetic mutation of the plains zebra, which appears darker than the usual plains zebra because its body produces too much of a gene called "melanin". These creatures are rarer than the albino and are a real challenge to breed! Enjoy!

Updated: Now Darker to resemble more of a melanistic animal.

Updated December 14, 2025 by fern and Jay to prevent this from crashing non-English versions of ZT, to link to ZT's sounds directly instead of having copies, to show the preferred object tooltip for females and young, to make a slight adjustment to the animal's tooltip, to have it play sounds as much as ZT's zebra, to give more time for ZT to notice if it is hit by a tranquilizer dart, and to remove unnecessary files and configuration lines.
