Description : Guests will be able to remember Tasmanian Tiger (Jessica Van Tricht) through this archway, a memorial and celebration of her beautiful artwork. The pillars of this arch are constructed from an image of the brickwork by the doors of the library where she worked.
Description from Dr Rick : When I heard about the death of Tasmanian Tiger I was, of course, saddened. I knew her from conversations here (Designer Guild) and there in the forums, but she was an aquaintance rather than a friend. I followed the link that Pukkie gave to Jessica's website and entered a new world, a world of fantasy, adventure and humour in the art of Jessica Van Tricht. That was when I realised the extent to which we had been blessed by her presence. I was moved to read of the accident in which she died and her funeral in the Gazet Van Antwerpen. I was moved to read that the Minister-President of Flanders, Kris Peeters, was passing by in the aftermath and stopped to provide first aid, that he came to her funeral and that her parents publically thanked him for that act of human compassion. I was moved by the sad little item on the website of the library where she worked, where she will clearly be much missed, especially by the children who benefitted from her creativity. Most of all, I was moved by her artwork. She bared her soul artistically by putting art all the way from schooldays to her current output. I loved the progression and the range of things she tried as she gradually honed her skills. I was moved to tears by some pieces. I recommend finding out for yourself. We were blessed to have her among us, and this zoo tycoon archway is, of course, a memorial to a life cut short, but it is also a celebration of a life well lived. I am grateful that the quality of Jessica's work made the task of making this archway so easy. Please think of Jessica when you see this creation; remember and celebrate. Here are some website links:
