Simple Question

I have one simple question: How many downloads can a Zoo Tycoon game at a time? I have a bunch and I just want to know about how many one game can have at one time.

I THINK IT DEPENDS ON YOUR COMPUTER .

 

I HAVE 323 USER MADE ITEMS IN MY DLUPDATES FOLDER MOST OF THE TIME .

 

I PUT ALL COMBINED FILES LIKE AWNINGS , BIRMINGHAM TRAIN , AND ETC IN THE MAIN FOLDER .

 

THEY WORK FINE THERE AND IT SAVES SPACE IN YOUR DLUPDATES FOLDER .

 

SOME HAVE SAID THAT THEY CANNOT PUT THAT MANY AT ONE TIME BUT , I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE .

 

YOU CAN TRY ADDING ONE AT A TIME AND SEE HOW IT WORKS WITH YOUR PROGRAM .

This issue came up sometime back during one of our contest. The count may also depend on which version of ZT1 you are playing. According to Fern the maximum number of downloads allowed in the Complete Collection is 338. (the discussion is here: http://zootekphoenix.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8979&page=6 scroll down to post 53). But as AZ mentioned it is best do add only a few at a time to see if fewer causes you any issues.

Don't forget that a combined ztd still only counts as one ztd even if it has 100 files in it.

I was never able to master combining ztds, even with the tutorials we have here!

It is because people have trouble combining that cricket, genki and I usually did a combined as well as singles. Did you see the latest set of Rick's trees over at DG? There is a combined of all those trees at the bottom of the post.

I DO COMBINED FILES , AS WELL AS BREAK THEM DOWN INTO SINGLES .

 

IT IS A LITTLE CONFUSING AT FIRST . BUT ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT , IT CAN BE BENEFICIAL ..

The combined files can be very helpful, but very often I prefer to use the individual files. Sometimes those large files with a lot of .ztds in them make the menu too big. I will be looking for one flower in particular and have to scroll and scroll, it seems like forever, and sometimes I miss on the first pass or two.

 

I have found that I can hold 353 files in my game. That does include all the files in the updates folder PLUS the dlupdates folder. I think that is more than many computers/games can handle.

 

If you have the Complete Collection, you should be able to run the game OK with about 250 to 275 .ztds in your dlupdates folder. But as has been mentioned here, a good way to find out is to put only one at a time once you've gotten about 250 in there.
