Oh wow! Thank you all for your compliments! We're only halfway through the zoo and people are asking for uploads!

Savannahjan, I'd upload the zoo, but I've got so many downloads that I don't remember how many all I used (although frankly many people probably already have some of them downloaded). When we've gone through the entire zoo and you'd still like it, I'll screenshot my downloads (I've all named them "DOWNLOAD _____" for simplicity) and post them, and then the zoo. Unfortunately, the zoo's kind of lacking elevation and inventive use of buildings, so my next one will improve on that.

If you just upload the zip then I can run a list of what downloads are needed.

Very nice layout. Love what you have done with the foliage.

Thank you so much Fern! That would be super cool of you. I just wanted to get through all of my screenshots since otherwise this thread would be pointless.

The highlight of the Shangsheng River Zoo is, naturally, the river itself. Originally the river was drawn out with freshwater in a random squiggly line across the map and I was going to put various waterfowl in it but then I thought to myself- "river dolphins... river... duh!" and promptly downloaded glass tank walls and I think it turned out really well. I was also pretty happy with the way the bridge turned out. For some reason the post fences work so well with brown paths like this one.

It's actually two exhibits, and I think it ended up being twenty or so Baiji between the two tanks. After a while I had to move babies from the smaller tank over to the bigger one because it was getting crowded! The sheer size of the exhibit causes frequent food shortages, but I tasked two marine specialists per tank (four for the whole river) so that was (sort of) fixed.

Fantastic!! A feast for the eyes. Loved all the exhibits and the entrance. Had to snag some copies of your screens!

I would very much like a copy of your zoo, too! I never thought of making a river into a habitat...even without elevation...your zoo is amazing! Can't wait to see what your next zoo will be like!

Love looking at the river...what a great use if space!

Here we have the Javan Rhinoceros exhibit, which is a bizarre shape but that's what the river allowed. You can also see a small food court and a larger picnic area nearby, along with a restaurant. I much prefer the restaurants over the food courts, don't you? I tried to use these grasses along the edge of the water but I didn't really notice how they appear to be in straight lines until I changed the angle to take these shots. I'll be sure to avoid this in the future.

Here we have the Tiger's Den, one of the more immersing exhibits in the zoo. I was glad I could use trees along the edges of the wall here; it made it so much easier to stuff Giant Ficus Trees in the corners without planting a thousand little bushes to satisfy foliage needs. The Bengal Tigers look right at home, too!

Here we have the Spotted Cuscus exhibit, the gift shop, and a coupe of food court areas near the back wall of the zoo. I liked the shape of this exhibit also, even though the animal inside is somewhat lackluster. I try and design exhibits with most of the foliage along the outer perimeter, so that the animals in the center are more visible and I was glad I could accomplish that here.

Over at Tree Kangaroo Pond you can see the large tree kangaroo family in their exhibit along the edge of the river, with an elephant ride exhibit and food court nearby. There aren't very many grandiose rainforest animals available from Australia and Oceania for this game, but I did what I could with the space and it turned out all right.

The cassowaries here were a nice addition, and the little popcorn kiosk fits nicely with the foliage and the benches along the riverbank. These guys needed considerably more trees than I last remember, but foxtail palms look good in any jungle setting, so it turned out just fine.

The highlight of this corner of the Shangsheng River Zoo is the Elephant Swamp, home to Asian elephants covered with high grasses and dotted with mossy boulders. This was a good use of the tall grasses and a successful depiction of a swamp, although Asian elephants don't like elevation change, with could have benefited the swamp image. I really like the shelter annexes, they add a level of realism to the Zoo Tycoon shelters, which are out of proportion and kind of cartoon-ish.
