(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 As for size, I've seen various screenshots with divers. Is there an animal in Marine Mania to which you would compare the average size too? I've worked only just a bit more on this animal, working on the shape, and eyes. Next: fins! A full grown sunfish , with the dorsal fins, would be comparable in size to the manta ray. If you use the size of the manta across the body from wingtip to wingtip as a guide for the size of the sunfish from top to bottom you'd be very close. As an aside, have you thought of trying a basking shark or a leedsichthys , about the size of the whale shark?
jbl89 Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Thank you Professor Paul! Well, let's first see how this new animal works out. I ordered a new laptop yesterday, so hopefully I can use the 3D program more efficiently soon. Not sure if it will ever make it to a ZT1 animal though, it's all very new and it seems a difficult task to do all the animations and all (I'm lucky with the Sunfish that it stays underwater, otherwise it would have been even more complicated!). I'm definitely not a graphic kind of guy, although it makes for some good fun to try. Very interesting suggestion though! I'll definitely keep it in mind, if the Sunfish works out. As for a second animal, I was currently considering the Bowmouth Guitarfish (how cool does that sound :o ), but I really want to see how it goes with the Ocean Sunfish first.
jbl89 Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 Since I actually started development - not promising it will ever get done, I created a new thread .This can be locked.
casey Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Hi Jeff, nice to you back in action. I have done quite a bit of programming for research, scenario's, buildings and other things in ZT1. If have done some graphics work on objects too. It is kind of fun, but I am not that interested in those things. Send me a pm, when you want some help with programming, and we can make arrangements
