fountain Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 onezoom.org OneZoom Tree of Life Explorer (quote) OneZoom is committed to heightening awareness about the diversity of life on earth and its evolutionary history. Here you can explore the tree of life in a new way: it's like a map, everything is on one page, all you have to do is use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out. (unquote) I spend a look alot of time lookingup genetic relationships and locations of animal speicies while building my zoos. I hear about this on BBC World Service "Science Hour" http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02qztrb and it sounds like a fun tool. Also a segment about chemosynthesis e.g., organisms living off the deep ocean hydrochemical vents, is present on other areas of the planet --I almost typed "planets" because of Mars, Jupiter's Europa moon, and accumlating info of other stars and their solar systems -- our planet Earth. Interesting. Maybe we need some new active guest-use buildings based on deep ocean creatures and other ocean explorations.
caddienoah Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 What a great idea!...Will take this to heart...and see what some of us can do!
fountain Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 I occasionally use One Zoom still. It takes a long time to load & looks as if it has expanded the ocean vents listing of creatures. Such fun!
caddienoah Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 With all the building tools here, and with RCT out there, with it's building capabilities, I can see you doing some buildings that could house all the different themes and subjects this "One Zoom" inspires you to do!!! 1
