I have discovered when the tracks elevation is changed "locally" it may effect the the entire line through the entire zoo if you make the track a large curcuit through the prarrie, desert, and mountains like I did. Even if is accidently changed because you are working on elevation for an exhibit, it will have you :runcirclsmiley2:

& :th_overreact: & :gnomesmileyf: because your paths and stairs and tanks will akimbo and you won't know why.

Word to the wise: remove small sections of track around your zoo before doing elevations near the tracks. I suggest leaving sections out until the the very end of your layout. Make it like tracks as dashes so you can do your zoo and have less redo later.

I had to destroy tanks and paths because there was no way to make changes without screwing up things even more and spend hours trying to "satisfy" the tracks, the tanks, the stairs, and the animals.

After spending hours fixing things and I wondered way guests were not visiting a mountainous corner diagonal I discovered an "earthquake" had ripped up the paths and stairs even I made only an up 1 height at the opposite corner because of tracks connected and effected everything where ever the track went.

So this gives me the oppertunity (said through gritted teeth) to expand those corner exhibits and move some animals to another place.

BTW I used the track guest path to make changes in elevations so the whole track did not have to be the same level. It was mostly train pack track with a few guest path pieces for the up and parts.

I will post pix later of what was the original corner. ...So glad I took plenty of screenshots. ...So tempted to try the rope way and forget the "charm" of the train.

Mountainous terrain is trickybuilding even in games. Sigh. Maybe by the end of month this will be completed.

I always use the train track path when I need to elevate the train, makes laying down the tracks a whole lot easier.. I love using the train, just wish the guests could hop on board and enjoy the ride..

Thanks for the tip...and good luck!!!

Unfortunately that happens a lot. You are not alone.

When I did Jan's Workbench...I had the same problems...the same thing happens when using a large building/buildings...you move one step up...and automatically the whole area goes up...I just had to take a deep breathe...maybe get up and walk away...close the game and swear that is the last w/bench I'm ever doing...and then go back and work on it.

I've used the sky tram...it's just as easy to use as the train!!!...I put a suggestion, in somewhere that the towers should maybe be made shorter and taller...I don't like the look of the bases standing so tall off the ground/surrounding terrain.

Fountain...I am really looking forward to your screens!!!

Dear Caddienoah,

I did not work on the zoo for 4 days because I was so disgusted after wasting 10 hours Sunday building and trying to fix everything.

I am posting some screens today.

Thought I'd post one too!

I've been in a design frenzy for the past month or so. Have no idea how many things, possibly 30+ buildings at this point and I'm still in the grip of the muse. Enough to make up for my long absence and keep Fern busy for quite a few years from now. LOL
