Map Edge?

So if I remember correctly, the only thing that can go on the map edge (first tile) without crashing the game, is a path, is this correct?

I believe that to be true. There were several instances of user-made maps that crashed the game when other items were placed on that outer edge. I usually start placing my items on the second row in :)

Definitely do not put fences on that outer tile.

So I could put a path around the entire map edge and it would be fine then, or does it only allow one tile of path?

I always keep one tile away from the edge with anything and that saved me a lot of problems

Yeah, I did a zoo once with the zoo wall on the map edge, which was fine, until after I completed the zoo, then it started to crash, so the only thing I put on the edge now is path.
