I use the way by the tutorial in THE ROUND TABLE, seems like it's Yukon's pose tutorial, not very sure. I add the skin dds file, just left click and press the file, put into Blender, on the model, so the model can show the skin. :) If you mean render the model to be a pic file like png file, ummm....... I remember the same way in the tutorial, I set it as no background and png file. btw, it's a little different in version 2.49b and 2.75+.
