Raven77 Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Hi! I don't know if this topic has already been asked. I want to delete some downloaded items. I already deleted the files that I pasted on my Zoo Tycoon folder but the items still appear in-game (In the "shop"). I'm worried that too much items may crash the game because I saw some posts about that topic. How can I delete the user created items that I've added on my game? Thanks
Raven77 Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 EDIT: This is how I added the items in-game. I clicked the Get new Zoo items on the menu, then check locally. I then highlighted the item ( Ztd and dll file together) then I clicked open. I think I did something wrong. Now both the ztd and dll file are deleted but they're (the items) still showing in-game on freeform mode.
(Designer)Khaydar Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Don't use the game menu to add downloads, because it will install them with the original content, making reinstalling your game the only way to get rid of them. Instead copy paste downloads inside dlupdate, in your ZT directory. 1
Raven77 Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 Ok just to make sure, both the dll and ztd file should be placed in that folder right?
(Designer)Khaydar Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 No, dll files should go in the same folder that zoo.exe 1
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 The .ztd file should be placed in the dlupdates folder. As Khaydar said, the .dll files go in the main Zoo Tycoon folder. If you keep all the items you download in the dlupdates folder, it is much easier to go in and remove the ones you don't want to use. You can leave the .dll files in the main ZT folder. If you know which files you want to take out, look in the updates folder to see if they are located there. Be sure you remove only the added user made downloads you want out. The Complete Collection content is automatically stored in that folder, and you want to be sure it remains. Generally, my game will operate with 350 added items, and this includes the CC content in updates folder, so I would recommend less than 300 in the dlupdates folder. Please let us know how things are going with this. 1
Raven77 Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 left folder contains dll. In the dlupdates the ztd. now I open the game and the items dont show ingame lol what's my problem. I also already reinstalled the game and restarted it 4 times.
Raven77 Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 Ohh. now I see it. ok last question. does the 350 added items refer to my downloaded ztds? or the items that appear on the shops? cause I downloaded ztds that resulted in lots of items that were added in the shop.
Fern Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 By "shops" I am thinking you mean the menus - foliage, rocks, paths, scenery, etc?? The count SavannahJan refers to is the number of ztds. So if you can use combined ztds, you can get more files ingame. There is also a dll limit which is why there are combined dlls available too. (Admin)Savannahjan Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 350 is a best estimate of downloaded items, but remember that all the items in the 'updates' folder counts in this. There are 58 individual files in my updates folder, so that would leave 290 or so to place in the dlupdates folder. Some members have reported they can only have around 250 items or the game will crash. There are many, many ingame items that will show up in the purchase menu, and some downloads are combined files that have many individual items in them. You will have many more than 350 show up in the menus, possibly hundreds more. If you decide to install the game again, be sure to place any .ztd files into the dlupdates folder and .dll files into the main game folder. EDIT: Fern, I was typing while you replied....I think I'm getting a bit slow. 1
