Guest jj_zootycoon Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 He I didn't know if there was a way to make an island for water/land creatures. I know you have to have somewhere for the Zookeepers to walk on or they will stop doing their job. I also have heard about the zookeeper swimming cheat, but I think that would make my game too unrealistic. You could probably just pick them up and take them in and out, but who wants to do that all the time??? Thanks for the help. It is probably impossible, but it was worth a try. Thanks!!!!!!!
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 You could just put the gate in a hidden area on your island with a single square outside it for the zookeeper to stand on (since they have to leave the exhibit to reset their duties). That way, you don't have to install the hack, and you don't have to keep picking them up and putting them in the exhibit ^__^ EDIT: I just rethought your question and realized that you meant, an exhibit with water touching all the fencing and the land in the middle where the zookeeper can't reach ^_^; Right-o. Without the swimming hack, it's not going to be possible the way you mention. However, you CAN have a single tile of land leading to the fencing to almost have an island in there :P
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Another way would be to build the exhibit. Then where the gate is, close in that one square of land, inside your exhibit, which will make another small, one square exhibit. If the zookeeper can walk in and out of that one square of space with it's own gate, he will keep working. If you use the invisible fence for this one square exhibit, you cannot tell that he is going in and out of it. I have done this many times and it usually works.
(Trustee)ZooGrammy Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I think AR made a tutorial on "An Island in a Tank".
Guest jj_zootycoon Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Thanks, guys! I appreciate it. I didn't understand some of it, but is it possible to put the invisible fence on the island without attaching to an outside area? If that is the case, it will look kinda odd with the zookeeper walkin in and out without going anywhere else, but that would be ok and work just fine. Thanks for all the help!!!
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 JJ, check out the way ZG made the island exhibit in THIS thread - post #121, I think :D
Guest jj_zootycoon Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Ok, I have no idea how to get the full island look w/ using the invisible fence. I couldn't figure out a way. Can someone help me w/ this please???
