pukkie Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 You mean this one from ZA?Hippo Trashcan by chimaera 6-Jun-04 hippotrash.zip Fern my dear can you make this downloadable so I can snatch it once more Then I try to track this author down I really really want this to become a working one ever since I placed it in a zoo I lost it to a pc crash once but never got it back for it still wasn't a working one But now to get it and to get it's authors permission and then gat another designer to do the job would be like a wish come true.
Fern Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Ah, sorry, I was under the impression there were more people that could configure.I wasn't referring to editting the fence file, but rather the cBashstrength in the uca to stop the animal from breaking out of fences. Like a certain penguin we recently fixed. Speaking of UCAs, critters that are compatible are great. Exhibits are much more interesting with variety. There are a number of people that can do scenery and animals but buildings and fences are a lot more complex and more prone to causing problems. I mentioned your post to a friend and he said you probably meant cBashstrength. But my knowledge of animals is limited to fixing ones that don't work and so far I have only had time to do one that was crashing everyones game :vishenka_34: Too many others files to work on...... both new and repairs. What scenery buildings were you referring to? If the author is still around maybe permission can be obtained to update them. Pukkie: the author of the hippo trash is chimaera and you can try to contact him/her when ZA is back up. It would need two more sets of graphics and then probably I would have to do the configuring. While I hadn't uploaded it when ZA went down this time, it will be available again in time.
pukkie Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Thank you so much Fern, I will just wait for it!
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I do so like it when animals can happily coexist :vishenka_34: Something I would like to see is more exhibit placeable items. There are some things like observation areas and certain other scenery items that would look great in an exhibit, but they're not programmed to be exhibit placeable, so they make the animals unhappy :( It bothers me when the beautiful, natural looking trees, bushes, flowers (etc) that are created can't be placed in an exhibit, too. And speaking of foliage, I REALLY prefer that the cAutoRotate = 1 is in the .ucs. I really dislike having to rotate the item manually when I'm making a big forest or something of that nature. Ah, thought of another peeve. Items with only a single view. I can handle it if there's only a mirrored image for a second view, but when something looks exactly the same no matter how you place it, it bugs me and I usually delete it...unless it's something that naturally would look the same from every angle like a column or a sphere.
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 My peeve is actually more of a laugh. It just kills me when animals walk into the water and then just stand there walking... and walking.... and walking. The sheep ucis are the worst at this I think. I pick them up and place them far away from the water, but almost every time when I get back over to look at them again, there they are, moonwalking on water.
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Some fantasy animals intentionally walk on water, but other than that, they really should be able to hehe I thought of something else with animals that bugs me. Animals with super-short life spans! I hate it when every time I turn around my animals have died on me! >_<
Guest eternalgravity Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Short lifespans do stink. I was in the middle of a scenario and noticed a previously checked goal was now unchecked. Apparently they had died off. And I just put the bloody things in the pen. I can't fault creators for animals walking on water seeing as I've had original animals walking on water. My seals have a habit of doing that. Another similiar thing I've seen is an animal walking backwards....or walking but the speed is set so they're flying at mach five acrossed the pen. Animals that like bad habitat items are nice too. I always wanted to do an Mayan theme with the black jaguars. Autorotate is nice, makes it look more natural with ease. Foliage still set as a rock is something I've come acrossed as well. Animal complains of too many rocks and there's no rocks in the pen. Talk about confused.
pukkie Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I did Fern and is it great or what! It likes absolutely everything in its exhibit and that is really soooooooooo cool I played with it in a Sundance appreciation zoo and placed dragon statues medieval stuff astatue and even a well in it!
Eragon845 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 My #1 peeve:2-D animals.I hate em,I hate em,I hate em! Anyways, the Temple Guardian is kinda like an animal called pix that like anything and everything, and it enjoyed the company of all animals, but some didn't like the company of it. It would breed like a rabbit, too.
