silverskyranch Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Hey y'all. I'm fairly new at the designing scene but I've got a couple projects I'm working on. At current I'm working on one of my favorite cats, the Florida Panther. The main problem is no matter what I try, I can't get the re-color deal to work so I'm having to do ALL the individual images. The good news is, they're all colored, so now I just need to get them all back on the program and working right. Completion: 35% ETA: 1-2 weeks
Boris Aardvark Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 very nice I'd download it if I could (sigh)
silverskyranch Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 I'M BACK!!! After nearly a year I've finally got my computer back and working (mostly). I'm going to need to replace the motherboard soon but it's okay for now. I've already gotten back into making statues and animals and I've got a few projects that I expect to have completed within a week or so. Common Wombat False Vampire Bat (can't remember offhand who got the bat images in the first place but :254: ! This is a critter I've been wanting for a long time!) KC Animal Statues Pack 5 Still working on the Florida panther but I can NOT find a re-color tecnique that'll work on my computer so I'm having to do every animation by hand and that's a LOT of animations! If anyone knows of a good proven way to recolor (or could maybe do it for me if I provide the re-colored icon? please?) it would help a lot.
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I like to do my recoloring a bit differently: 1. Start New Project in APE, then save 2. Open the file (with WinZip or WinRar) 3. Replace the .pal file with the .pal from another animal or object To see how the recolor looks, 4. Open the animal in ZOOT and check any animation 5. Once you get a recolor that you like, rezip the animal (which will now be recolored) 6. Change back to a .ztd and open with APE 7. Make changes to icon, plaque, habitat specifications, etc as desired 8. Save your project and proceed as usual (following Jordan's animal-making tutorial)
