Pukkie, your local bank should be able to help you turn your money to American. Then you can send it to Jan or me.

Nope, if you go to your bank and have them make out a check or money order you can send it to one of us in the mail. I believe Jane did this before so you can ask her for more info :)

I'm not going to contribute myself,but for a very good reason. Professor Paul's Nature Encyclopedia costs as much to fund a year as the main site does,& I don't ask for members to contribute to funding that as well.All of the expenses for PPNE are out of my own pocket,& whilst I could take up Jan's offer to move the site onto the Tek Server,if I did that none of you would have any room to post anything.It's that comprehensive.

 

For the last few years though,Tek has been funded by a core of certain members,& whilst those members are happy to do so it would be nice to see others who have enjoyed the work put in here chipping in.

 

I have a difficult choice;pay for Tek or pay for PPNE.I'm paying for the Encyclopedia,because I can't expect members to pay for both.But if anyone can spare a few quid,dollars,euros,whatever.

Why is Tek important to you personally?

 

Hum, well tek is important to me for a whole bunch of reasons...let me just try to think of a few. Well a major reason is because that's where the Brando lives and so it's very conveniant to check to see if she's online so I can have a wee natter to her. It's also home to a great deal of other people who are real top quality, like little Jan, and wee Zigram. I'm sure theres others lol. So yes I like tek for the people; the banter, the humour and all that kinda stuff but also it's got such a wealth of downloads and junk - which I don't really use on account of me not liking Zoo Tycoon but they are terribly pretty to look at. But you see Bran-flake this is the clincher - wihout the tekkies doling out BUCKETS of their cash all this will be gone, gone, gone, GONE!

 

what would you do if Tek was gone? Where would you go?

 

Well this is the thing, I wouldn't go anywhere - I wouldn't have a home on the internet at all. I don't go on to any other forums and don't really fancy going to any others. I have no real interest in Zoo Tycoon and so me being at tek is simply me being attached to the site and with it gone I wouldn't just latch myself on to one of the other ZT sites (which are terrible, I hear, jokin, of course) and although I'm sure other tekkies would be there I don't see myself joining them - I'm old, Bran, I can't be bothered to be making new friends at other sites - for me it's ZTP or not going online (except for uni-junk and speaking to you-junk, of course)

 

so what would you say to everyone reading this, to get them to donate?

 

I would say that it only takes two dollars a month to keep a Jan, in Alabafrica, in lederhosen. Donations do not need to be an extravagant amount (although that would be just great) in order to make a difference to this site that's not just a website; but a website with me on it and how could you beat that?
