fountain Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Here is Western Bunny from entrance with vultures, quetzal birds, zoo greenhouse. I forgot I already built a composting/recycling in the rear corner of the zoo. I kept this one and will make an exhibit out of the other one later. Beaded lizard and gila monster across from Prairie Dog Cafe. Test send.
fountain Posted April 22, 2023 Author Posted April 22, 2023 Ice cream stand behind gift shop, osollated turkey on right. (Having trouble organizing pix.) Turning around to see Mojave rattlesnake, Western diamond back rattlesnake across from Greater roadrunner, and Black-tailed Jackrabbit, then Desert tortoise and camels for camel ride. Trumpeter swans, Black-bellied whistling ducks, Cayuga ducks, and Black-neck swans. 2
fountain Posted April 22, 2023 Author Posted April 22, 2023 Guests are going past the rides to get a "rear view" of roadrunners and rabbits. This was unexpected but at least guests are not getting trapped. Ocellated turkeys -- the peacock of turkeys -- upper left and Blue-headed parrot w Hyacinth maccaw. Above is Cameo peach peafowl and common peafowl. (I'm not good at making verdant areas in my zoos.) I did several experiments with the candy-colored bunnies but I can't seem to put them in w grace or humor so I plan to move them to a different part of the zoo. ( I was listening to Christopher Lee's fine performance, and rare copy, reading an adaptation of "Dracula" on Mr. Jim Moon's Hypnogoria website. Maybe that had something to do with it? --However Monty Python's holy grail attack rabbit had me turn off the movie.) Anyway, L is Lesser roadrunner, M prairie dog, R pronghorn antelope. More to come... 1 1

(Admin)Savannahjan Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Love these desert shots; what a great looking zoo! The contrasts with the stark desert and the water features, plus all the colorful accents really look amazing. 1
fountain Posted May 5, 2023 Author Posted May 5, 2023 I added vines to the vertical walls Cattle Egrets instead of bunnies and wood plank paths under wagons and flowers around prairie dogs and lesser road runner. New bridge past the American Advocets Eating and large Puma exhibit so the cats don't feel crowded. Stone's sheep upper R and upper L in lower picture. Lower L, below, American Bittern. 1
fountain Posted May 5, 2023 Author Posted May 5, 2023 Golden Eagle R CA Condor Beyond Puma and train Station is Dino Park because WY, CO, and other midwest states are "final resting place" for dino fossils and, in this zoo, small surprises. (It took 3 weeks of thinking and frustration to figure out what to do with these rock mountains. Black Bear and Grizzly across from Dino fossils. Auntie Em serves hearty breakfast and the train prepares to leave the station Angus and Anglo-Nubian Goat And more to come... 1
