OK! I'm sorry. I just don't seem to be getting it...

So I just unzipped using winrar the highland pack. All the animal folders are in one both data (I think) and UCA files. I zipped them up, retitled the folder and ztd'd it. Added it to my dlupdate folder and ran the game. The animals SHOULD be there but it's just blank tiles. Why does this keep happening? What is it I'm doing wrong? I'm so sorry. I've been going around in circles and all I've added so far are ready made combined files. Haven't been able to do any of my own and still not started on creating my own animals. I feel really dense at this point in time.

I have never tried to combine animals before, so I'm not sure, but I'm wondering if it related to Winrar.  So, when you start through the combining steps, are you zipping, or 'rar'ing the files?  Hopefully Cricket will see this and be able to advise.   I've got the scenery items combining perfected, but animals may be a bit different.

I don't know how much this will help, but here goes ...

 

Generally speaking, most non-animal .ztd files will have the following folders when you first 'open them up' using WinRar or WinZip:

 

objects

scenery

freeform (if a working building)

 

Paths & fences will have different folders but the concept is the same.

 

 

Animal .ztd files will have this folder:
 

animals

 

 

The concept of combining a group of animals is basically the same as combining any other group. 

 

If you follow the steps from one of our tutorials posted here at Tek, the combining should go ok regardless of whether you're combining non-animals, animals or any other combinations.

Thank you ladies! I've finally did it! Sorry to be such a nuisance! I've been spending hours combining all my statues, foliage and other such stuff. I finally succeeded with the animals! I'm happily combining away and look forward to entering the new contest you have going! That sounds such fun. :)
