The ring-necked parakeet (Psittacula krameri) [also known as the rose-ringed parakeet] is a green parakeet native to the tropical forests of southern Asia and Africa.  Many color variations are found in captive-bred populations.  Both sexes have similar plumage, but the males have a distinctive ring around the back of their necks.

The African ring-necked parakeet is a green parakeet native to the tropical forests of India and Africa.

Aqu-ino is one of the many color varieties found in captive-bred Indian ring-necked parakeets

 Cobalt is one of the many color varieties found in captive-bred Indian ring-necked parakeets.
