Truly_happy Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I wanted to go ahead and reserve a thread for this although I won't be posting any pictures until tomorrow ... I guess. Introduction: What is the Bible? The Bible is not simply one book but really a collection of 66 books and letters. The oldest books were written as early as 1445 BC while the canon wasn't completed until the first century AD. The Bible has perhaps 40 different authors, from Moses to the apostle John. The magic of the text is its cohesion, carrying the same theme of God's love for and struggle with mankind and how Jesus is the answer to this struggle. Over 120 animals are mentioned in the Bible, including cryptids suchs as the leviathan and the dragon. The Bible also mentions about 110 plant species. My Biblical Garden Zoo showcases some of those botanical and zoological species while trying to bring one back in time and space to the Holy Land in the times which the Bible was being penned. I hope you enjoy seeing my work. I'd like to end with a note that this was inspired by the Biblical garden at the Missouri Botanical Garden. 1 1

There are 31 exhibits, so I don't see myself going through each one and saying, "And here's this and here's that." Here's what's featured: Orangutan ("ape") Seagull Raven Rabbit ("hare") Pigeon Monitor lizard Ox Horse Fox Dove Crane Bat Goat Addax Ass Whale shark ("big fish") Eagle Dragon Lion Camel Hippo Gazelle Ostrich Cow ("heifer") Chicken ("cock") Crocodile Peacock Deer Sheep Bear Dog Not nearly every creature mentioned in the Bible, but I had to quit somewhere. x_x More to come. 1
