nggak Posted Monday at 01:17 PM Posted Monday at 01:17 PM Hello all, I'm a little confused on guest behaviour using this setup. After the guests exit the shark tunnel, they did not use the Swim Shack at all. Is it due to the path being a dead end? Thanks in advance!
(Designer)Z.Z. Posted Monday at 05:00 PM Posted Monday at 05:00 PM Ive never tried that set up, interesting idea. The path dead ending at the swim shack has never affected its use in any of my zoos. The only things that caused my guests to not use the swim shack were not having a clear space of water on either side of the exit (in the back where they come out to swim) and having the swim shack itself in backwards, neither of which seem to be your case here, so I have no idea why this set up would cause your guests to ignore the swim shack. One thing I do suggest is put a restaurant on the northwest side of the swim shack entrance because swimming and other water activities make guests hungry. 1
HeatherL Posted Monday at 07:46 PM Posted Monday at 07:46 PM The guests enter and exit the swim shack to the left of the stairs. It looks like that area is blocked. Also, if the guests are too far away from the shack when their swim time is up, they revert to clothed and start trying to find another way out of the water. If fences block the entire perimeter, etc., they will drown. 1
Fern Posted Monday at 11:17 PM Posted Monday at 11:17 PM Nope it is far more simple than that. They don't want a swim. Both the Shark Tunnel and the Swim Shack are Attractions. The guests, and game is programmed with random Needs for Hunger, Thirst, Bathroom, etc. Attractions are Fun. Guests usually do not want two fun things in a row. Or two restaurants in a row. So the setup above needs exits to allow the guests to choose to go and do other things.....and to allow peeps to get to the shack to go swimming rather than visit the Shark Tunnel. They will not do both. They may come back later and do the other one after seeing animals or eating, etc. 2

I think I can rearrange a few things so that the guests look into at least 1 exhibit beforehand 5 hours ago, HeatherL said: The guests enter and exit the swim shack to the left of the stairs. Fern Posted Tuesday at 03:01 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:01 AM I forgot to add that they will not go back through the Shark Tunnel either. So your setup has them trapped. Which is why I said you need a gap in those walls between the Tunnel and Shack. if you are feeling mean.....Drop a guest in a tank and keep moving the ladder so they can't get out. Then you can actually see them drown. It does take a little while though. And they do drown/die because they also disappear from the Guest List.
nggak Posted Tuesday at 04:59 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:59 AM Oh it's not very clear from the screenshot but the side of the tunnel actually do have a gap. I initially used just concrete to coerce the guests to use the swim shack but when that didn't happen I pathed them too, which still didn't do the trick. My goal is to make an attraction that allows the guests to safely(?) swim with the sharks and also make it so that the sharks are only viewable from the said swim shack (if possible, I think guests can still have thoughts about animals when swimming?) 1
