It is with heavy heart that I post this.  For those that are familiar with Yellowrose (Wendy) from ZA (Zoo Admin), her son posted this from her Facebook account:

This is Wendy's son Kevin. I regret to inform you that Mom died Christmas morning. At approximately 5am she passed in her sleep, comfortable, painless and peaceful. She will be greatly missed.

Yellowrose was a prominent and prolific designer for our ZT community.  I had the pleasure of working with her on a couple of projects.  She was amazing.

She will most definitely be missed.

Side note:

At Wendy's request, Jan and I are working on hosting her ZA files here at Tek.

This is from the ZA archive site and part of a very long thread. Posts by players/members.

This is part of the post Yellowrose did about finding ZT.

I was introduced to this wonderful game kind of late(Dec 2003). My nephew had a copy of Zoo Tycoon and I asked if I could borrow it to check out the game. I had watched the TV commercials for it and RCT 2 but had never really tried them. I brought his cd home and loaded it on the the system and played for about an hour. I got sooooo frustrated. He didn't have the manual that came in the box so I was just lost as to how to do anything beyond what the tutorial instructed. I left the game alone for about a week and then fired it up and again the frustration set in so i went looking for some info on the Microsoft site. Didn't find to much there and then spotted the fansite link so I checked it out and saw all these sites listed and started at the top which of course was ZA. I visited the others as well but came back to ZA for further investigation. I browsed the forum for about an hour and did a little reading then the cursed word caught my eye - yep - Downloads. yippee they have something that can help me I thought. Well I visited the downloads section to see what was afoot and 5 hours later....yes you read right 5 hours I downloaded. I got everything this site and a few others had to offer. I came back and read how to install them and use them ingame and then went and played the most enjoyable zoo...wish I still had that very first zoo but ...well...I went out abd purchased Zoo Tycoon Complete Collection and returned my nephew's cd to his care so he could someday regain interest.

After playing for 3 hours I came back to the site and joined. I figured it was the least I could do after downloading all the goodies I did, kind of a way to show my appreciation.

The first person I really met was Aussie Koala. She was the best and we became friends right away. We even got to playing a card game together off site on an almost daily basis. That frienship lead me to many other great people and over the last few years I have made some great friends including our resident Pesky Admin Texgnome who I consider to be one of my closest friends.

Not long after joining the site I discovered it was very easy for me to pick up the steps to simple designs and I started creating my own creations, then came a design team appointment, later moderator, Admin and now Network Admin.

It s a sad thing to read this and I was already in shatters over Z.Z,s passing

This set me off as well

It’s nice to read she passed kind of like she hoped she would one day in her sleep peaceful and painless

We had some great times and laughs over msn and on ZA

She even made me an admin there but I always seem to struggle to decide time over multiple sites as I was also admin at at.nl and involved in the youth group we once had here

My heart was just too much into ZooTek but she didn’t mind

Thanks Wendy for all you did for me and for the ZooTycoon community

Rest in peace sweet friend and keep on dancing beyond the clouds

This is painful news to run into on my short visit here. She has been such a constant in the community for so long. She will be greatly missed.

This is very difficult news.

I did not know Yellowrose/Trizzy very well well but we did have some pleasant conversation for a nice period and it meant a lot to have the chance to get to know her a little. I don't have the free time I used to but having visited Zoo Admin as a child and grown up in the community over time, I have endless respect for her and for Zoo Admin as a fandom institution. I know she worked on content over so many years and also did some amazing things outside of our community, and that she took it so seriously respecting the wishes of download authors and keeping the valuable work of hundreds of people available for all of us to enjoy.

I have always been and am even more grateful now Zoo Tek is still around to carry the torch as it will be a sad day soon when Zoo Admin goes offline for the final time.

No it is not. Zookeeper's Lounge is still around when the bots do not exceed its bandwidth. Also the Designers Guild has been around for about 15 years and the Download Directory. Plus there is the new site of Zooberry which has mostly ZT2 but a few ZT1 files as well. But Tek is the only one with an active forum area.
