(Admin)Savannahjan Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Exhibit hopping hippos....what a concept! You've done some great work here altering your moat design, it's really a novel design. Thanks for including the descriptions with screens, it helps so much to visualize. This is truly a unique project. 1

This is truly a unique project. Aww that means so much to hear, thank you! I’ve actually taken the liberty of getting a few more of the hippo pics uploaded, so you can really see them in action 🦛 Here’s another view of the last pic I showed of them: And here’s the bits I should have really added in the post, the two of them finally meeting up They do this entirely of their own accord, and I swear sometimes they even follow each other in and out of the different exhibits (although that’s almost certainly just coincidence, I don’t think that behaviour is actually coded 😅) But yeah this is probably the best thing I have ever done in anything! I actually assumed it probably wouldn’t work, but their general hardiness and the extent to which a tank will connect with a land exhibit means it all just falls into place The only thing that isn’t clear is whether they’ll still be able to breed like this, since they’re technically in and out of different enclosures all the time. But even if they can’t, it’s still just awesome having them around 3
pukkie Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Soo funny to see them together like that Such a unique example in zoos I ever seen 1 1
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted March 24 Posted March 24 And just think, it only took roughly 24 years for someone to try this. What's next, Mugcake? 1

Probably gonna bridge the gap between both extensions with a final extension at the front of the plaza (in front of the elephants & giraffes). That’s probably where the remaining Savannah animals will go. Preferably it would be warthogs in with the baboons and a leopard enclosure shouldering it round the back, with flamingos swimming around them in the moat (unless the crocs really need more space and I have to add them to yet another moat 🫠) Oh also been meaning to ask, would it be better to make an Africa Zoo topic or make a new topic with each extension? So much happens when they change that I tend to make a new topic, but I don’t wanna clog up the forum :/ 1
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted March 25 Posted March 25 You can do either, but it might help everyone to keep up if it was all together. Either way is fine. 2
Mugcake Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Made a Reddit post about this update, sharing it here as the screenshots look a little better (I think this site compresses the images when you upload them?) Other than that it’s no different though, in fact I just adapted the text from here for it 😅
