Guest Jaimi Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Ok, since I have moved into the dorms, I dont have my PC. I wanna keep playing ZT, but to do so, I have to transfer all my ZT files to my laptop. What would be the best way to do this?? What files do I need to copy I guess is my major question??? What folders do I need to transfer?
(Trustee)Menolly Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 When I travel I carry a CD with all the downloads on it. That way I only upload what I need to my laptop. Only the new releases either have to wait til I get home or are downloaded to a file on the laptop til I can get them transferred to a more permanent file.

(Trustee)genkicoll Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 You have to have the disc in order to play, so at least installing won't be a problem. You'll want to copy over the zoo.ini (in your main Zoo Tycoon folder) so that you don't have to do all of the scenarios and tutorials again. Which version do you have?
Yellowrose Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Also if you want to do additional building to anyhting you may already have saved it's a good idea to have the following saved on cd that is a multi write cd meaning files can be added to the cd if it's not full after the first transfer. Like genki mentioned the zoo.ini file so here is a list of files and folders to add to your cd from the mian zoo tycoon folder add zoo.ini any combined site dll files you may have for buildings any individual dll files that are needed because they are not added to the site combined dll files Other folders to include dlupdates - for any downloads you have installed for current zoos saved games - for any zoos you may want to continue or add to screenshots - incase you want to refer to something you did in a previous zoo Downloads inside this I would add subfolders for each of the sites and then add in any of the regular downloads from those sites you use all the time any other downloads you wish to add can be downloaded to your laptop and then added to the cd if there is room or just burn to an additional cd. when burning your cds make sure the multi session is enabled so if what you have doesn't fill the cd or dvd you can add to it later. If your PC & Laptop have a dvd/cd burner I would recommend using dvds instead of cds as they hold a lot more. dvd = 4500MB versus a cd = 750 MB hope this helps you out some.
