luvmy83wing Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 okay this is my opinion but I believe that enough scenery is in the eye of the builder and what exactly are we refering to as scerery? My personal opinion is that scenery was refering to all aspects of buildings foliage, waterfalls etc. And if this was the case like I said it is in the eye of the builder. I love foliage and fountains. Buildings I like if they coinside with the attractions and exhibits. I love the looks of waterfalls and fountains.
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Who, me? Tease? Naaaah, never  I agree that a lot of random, non-matching objects that don't tie together in any way looks cluttered. That's exactly why I like to create my new items in themes, so that there's always something to match!
ageise02 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I agree with exoticcats it's in the eye of the builder. I put in scenery until it looks good to me but it can't be TOO busy for me or my mind will short circuit and I can't see any one thing so I keep this in mind as I build.
bambiferret Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Scenery that wonderfull colorfull SCENERY...MY very Favorite thing to do is decorating, but I can be the QUEEN of too much.....I get so lost that I some time have to stop and say wait THIS IS A ZOO not a garden ......and I can over do it really fast...But thats my passion with zoo building is the decorating....so to me you can never have to much ,,,but again Im the Queen of over doing it,,,so maybe this should be answered by someone more conservative then I am...lol :140: I also try to go by what theme the zoo is but I still have a hard time not wanting to over do it,,,so I have to really watch myself...or I get totally carried away with it.... Caddienoah I really really want your zoo map that you made in your section on caddienoah screens #2*It would make a beautifull zoo.... genkicoll,I love your building and style...Excellent work Marlizdu,I love your Screenshots they are so pretty and Ihave always loved the style and the way you build...Excellent work... exoticcats I also love the way you build and your style...Excellent work Caddienoah you build very well also and I love it too ...Excellent work Z.Z. your building I love as well..Excellent work Alicia G,Your zoo are really good too...Excellent work each and every one of us build differently but unique in its on way and each and everyone of them are in my eyes really beautifull and thats why I wouldnt want to have to choose.....But I do totally agree with exoticcats its in the eye of the builder.. Hugs,Connie :autumn:
twigabor Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Thanks for all your great tips and advices. This I can work with. My personal conclusion out of this is. A lot of scenery is good but keep the exhibits in mind and dont missmatch theme's (this last thing kind of seemed logical to me already) Animals first! :vishenka_34:
ageise02 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Yes Animals first but remember to keep it balanced
Guest Caddienoah Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I received a very beautifully written response from Zoogrammy...I like what she said and how she said it... "That is hard to say. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think of scenery and foliage like an artist does as he paints. It creates color and contrast. Some people use more than I would and others use far less. Sometimes it comes down to; how much time do I have to finish this or whether you feel particularly inspired by a zoo and it's design."
Guest Caddienoah Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Bambiferret you are so sweet! As a side note...Bambi makes an extremely good team player when building a zoo...she and I worked on the club zoo...she made it so much fun...Thank You Bambiferret! Back to the topic...It seems to come down so far to how the zoo builder/designer feels...so Twigabor...it looks like it comes down to you, your heart, and your feelings...do what you think and learn from it!
luvmy83wing Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Hey Caddie .... you forgot something!!!!!!! Zoos are meant to be built and shared so be sure to share your artwork. look at others screens pick out what you like and build on that. Post your zoos and expect compliments and constructive critisms.
ageise02 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Yes but some of us are NOT brave enough to share and are trying to work up to it!!!!!
