New smilies!

I really like using the smilies/emoticons, but I always have to view the image info, copy the location, then insert it in the insert image radio button. I seem to remember that we used to just have to click the smilie at the cursor point, and the smilie would be automatically inserted. Did something change so we have to copy the image and insert it ourselves?

Well, others are having trouble with the smilies as well. I just select the one I want and click on it and it is placed into the post wherever the cursor is.

 

Try this folks who are having trouble: Click the 'show all' button at the bottom of the smilie box. Then when you select a smilie, look to the left and click on the name of the smilie instead of the picture. Does this help?

OK, if you are having this problem, please try this. When you click on a smilie a lot of code will appear. It will begin with a colon : If you delete everything after the 2nd colon, the smilie should appear correctly in your post.

And if that doesn't work, you can try this, which is a variation of what Jan mentioned earlier.

 

Click on Show All ... then highlight the smiley name over on the left, right click then Copy (NOT Copy Link Location), then right click and Paste in the post. :yahoo:

Ok. what I did was just right click on the smilie I wanted, clicked copy and then paste on the message

for me I just click on the smiley and it is added to the message :woot-smiley:

Thanks all for your input. Ir seems there are different ways to insert the smiles. That's great. I will try the suggestions and see what works best for me.

This is with deleting everything after the second colon. This also is great. Thanks Jan and Cricket. Both ways are much better than copying and pasting into the image box like I was doing!!
