(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Some ideas from zoos I have visited. At Whipsnade & at the Norfolk Wildlife Park the path was raised higher than the herbivore exhibits so you could look down at the animals. Norfolk also had a wolf enclosure behind wild boars (here behind warthogs) with a raised observation area. The Feline Forest is broadly based on the one at Amazona Zoo in Cromer. Like Norfolk there are very few hard paved paths.
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Thank you. No good zoo is without good architecture! The secret is working out where it looks good! There are also a couple more exhibits included here!
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 The cattle sheds;gaur, banteng, anoa, musk ox, wisent, plains & wood bison, plus forest buffalo
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 I thought as the church looks like it could have been designed by Christopher Wren , it should have birds associated with it!
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Finished the small mammals (meerkat & bengal fox) and started on reptiles (chameleon & coral snake)
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 And some more general views of the zoo
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 I'm getting low on space in this zoo, but it needs more wild dogs, more deer & birds of prey. Ive started with the dogs (only half an hour spare tonight after working on PPNE)
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 Another new zoo, this time with more mixed exhibits Vervet/Olive Baboon Forest/Asian Elephant Savannah Elephant/Ostrich Patas Monkey/Warthog Black Rhino/Cheetah Zebra/Gnu/Thomson's Gazelle/Sable Antelope
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 18, 2015 Author Posted October 18, 2015 I try to remember that people want to see the animals. You can view these carnivores either by riding the train or taking the path
(Professor Emeritus)Professor Paul Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 I'm grouping the animals by continent. Africa takes up the most room easiy
