(Trustee)genkicoll Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Genki, do you have a suitability guide for your horses? I'm having a real hard time making them happy. One thing to keep in mind for all animals is that they prefer the foliage to fill the grid squares, as opposed to only one or two foliage items per square. You don't have to use the same foliage item, it could be 4 different foliage items if that's what you'd like, it doesn't have to be the same thing. As long as all of the items are liked by the animal. It will bring your exhibit suitability much higher than having single 1/4 tile items per square. Here are the exhibit specifications for the horses in the European Extravaganza Pack, as well as Ghirin's Forest Tarpan: Liked foliage: Broadleaf Bush, Maple Tree, Fir Tree, Pine Tree, Yew Tree, Birch Tree Spruce Tree, Globe Willow Tree, Deciduous Bush, Weeping Willow Tree White Oak Tree Liked rock: Large Rock, Small Rock - Medium, Small Rock - Small Preferred shelter: Large Stable. - This animal does not require a shelter, and although the zookeeper says that they don't like the shelter in their exhibit, they are actually quite happy to have one in there. Number of animals allowed per exhibit: 2-20 with 8 squares each. A suitable exhibit for 2 of this animal has 16 squares containing terrain of: 11 Deciduous Floor, 2 Dirt, 1 Fresh Water, 2 Grass using 2 grid squares filled with 4 Yew Tree most liked plant and using 1 Small Rock - Small most liked rock. Of the 16 squares, 0 nonadjacent squares should be elevated. Say you want 8 horses in your exhibit. Multiply the above by 4 (2 animals x's 4 = 8 horses). So, the exhibit specifications would be: 44 Deciduous Floor, 8 Dirt, 4 Fresh Water, 8 Grass using 8 grid squares filled with 4 Yew Tree most liked plant and using 4 Small Rocks - Small most liked rock. Of the 64 squares, 0 nonadjacent squares should be elevated
Yellowrose Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Something I like to do is combine 2 1/4 tile rocks and 2 1/4 tile trees to 1 grid square rather then 4 trees in one square this allows you to spread the trees a little in an exhibit but still keep suitability up with having the grid square full instead of like Genki mentioned 1 1/4 tile item in a square.
Guest Caddienoah Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 That is an amazing idea...why didn't someone think of that sooner...that could be done across the board for all terrains...Yellowrose you are special!
