fountain Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Do any known user created fantasy or crpytid or scary creatures/animal or whatever elicit in guest thoughts e.g., "I am glad that I am on this side of the fence!" or "I hope that fence holds!" or "This zoo creature is scary!" or "Creepy!" or "Shudder!" It's really an anti-climax to see "T-rex looks overjoyed" or "Cold Flame looks happy" in a Halloween Zoo. :sFun_bat: Anyway, I'm putting the scarier animals toward the rear of my zoo so parent/guests don't have to have their children pass by the possible bad dream inducing creatures.
pukkie Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Most considerate of you Fountain I wish those thoughts could be added somehow That would be just too cool.
IcePengwyn Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 they can be used in buildings or objects - like "what a scary moose" when seeing a home-made moose statue.
Fern Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Wonder if a hack could be made possibly??? I doubt it. The thoughts and zookeeper requiredments related to animals are quite complex and reading them is hardwired into the game. Here are some: "This exhibit is well suited for %s." "%s is hungry and can't find any food." "%s is sick." "Other animals in the exhibit are sick, making %s unhappy." "Other animals in the exhibit are angry, making %s unhappy." "More animals of the same type would make %s happier." "There are too many animals in this exhibit, which makes %s unhappy." "%s is not receiving enough stimulation." "%s cannot find its mate." Notice the "%". This tells the game to add the appropriate animal. There are no commands for specific animals. To do anything specific would required programming knowledge and as far as the game goes would be illegal. All of what we do for buildings, animals, scenery, etc is configuring. It is not programming. Nor will microsoft allow the release of the source code. If they did we might be able to do the things we can't do now like elevated walkways.
fountain Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 On a related question, I've seen notations in certain file updates about fence height in that guests can see over a low fence. Can guests see over or see through the user created colored iron fences? I used animal print fences from /www.ztcdd.org/DD/index.php?topic=428.0 Zoo Keepers Lounge with an invisible fence because those fences have good autumn colors, but I noticed the guests did not have thought about the peafowl and Halloween horse and stopped donating after I put up those fences. I seem to be having the same problem with the orange and purple colored cast iron fence from Z Tek.
Fern Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 The animal print fences from ZKL have a height setting of two, so guests cannot see over them. The two cast iron ones you mention have a height setting of one, so offhand I am not sure what the problem is.
