damselfly Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Okay, I saw where the question was asked about removing in-game buildings. My question(s): I want to re-color the in-game buildings...like making the white buildings WHITE and also do some changes to the buildings such as add flowers and such and change the exterior, removing doors...etc. Almost like making a new building; which come to think of it might be easier...I don't know 'cause I've never done that. :JC_see_stars: As an example, take the animal shelters...the white ones...I don't want to just do another building...I want just one, but brighter, lighter.... :413: My question is: Can I take the ORIGINAL bld files...copy them, and put them in a safe place; and then make changes to the files I copied from? Does this make sense? :sFun_IthinkImgoing: I would still have the originals I could put back in if it doesn't work. And...would a tutorial on taking out objects/blds etc; be feasible? Or is it too involved? **Disclaimer: The person that posted this message is not responsible for nervous breakdowns or heart attacks, or any other adverse reactions to the people who try to make sense of this. Fern Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 It would be easier to make a new building. You can use ingame ids for the most of new buildings. Do not reuse any ids from researchable files. Taking out or over-riding ingame buildings is not a good idea. The parts are in more than one place. What building did you have in mind? Some graphics can be gotten using Zoot. For the others use genki's white or pink paths to screenshot all 4 views. Use PrtScrn to take your screens as you need them to be bmp or png files, otherwise you get fuzzy edges. As for shelters I have recolours for most of them coming out sometime soon. There are recolours of some of the other buildings coming too.
