Parasaurolophus

Hi! I've made account here few years ago and I really never got time to work on my Platypus I started. Anyway, lately I have more time on my hands and decided as new year resolution to make a few creatures for Zoo Tycoon. (Since you know, I am a filmschool student and it'd be a waste if I can actually work with 3D and do nothing for fun really).

 

I noticed there are no user-made dinosaurs per se, as in, no new models, only re-colourings really. (I do hope this is possible to make them ;D) I've made this model yesterday in Zbrush:

 

 

And now currently I am rigging and texturing it and preparing for animation.

I never really packed anything into ztd, but I have no doubt there are many useful tutorials around here to help me. If I fail, it'd be great to have someone to help me tho :D

Now if I may get some hints, that'd be great. I know I have to make 8 directions of every animation.

Walking, running, eating/drinking, idle 1/2/3, sick/resting. Is there something I missed?

(perhaps electricution by fence?)

 

 

If you ever have any ideas for models I should make, just give me a sign. I am thinking about Brachiosaurus, Amargasaurus, Pachycephalosaurus and Deinonychus.

I also thought about marine animals, but maybe I'll see if I succeed with my first one at all ;D

 

I kinda like this model, I made a whole film-compositing with it ;D

Some brand new dinos would be great! I am not able to make animals, but there are some who visit the site from time to time who do know about it. I would suggest you look through the Tek University threads and then post as you run into roadblocks. Perhaps someone will be able to help. Your model is excellent.

I know. I am making sprites. All Zoo Tycoon 1 models are made in 3D, then transferred into isometric animations.

Oh and also while I still rig and animate Parasaurolophus, I started Amargasaurus and still am waiting for some suggestions for new dinosaur models ;]

Any suggestions on changing Parasaurolophus' texture? I mean, maybe different colours, more blendy, more details? I went with a very simple design.
