fountain Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Is it possible to make a too big exhibit or too large a tank? Is it possible to make a too "curving" or too many corners to go around to reach the food or for the keeper/scientist to reach the animal? fountain
pukkie Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 oh yes absolutely that is possible I have been there Hard to tell though how big they were back then I only do remember it was for a contest I did with Bambiferret for Nornironers zoo as well she and i didn't want to cut the way to big a zoo in half so we made huge huge mega huge exhibits to fill in the zoo The horror :sFun_doh2: Especially as the superhack did NOT work on the fences we used It was a curse really but I don't think there was a zoo we were as frustrated about as that one who gave us more fun discussing the issues on mns Don't think another zoo will ever gives us that fun again Said I lost it otherwise I would you have a look at it. I will ask Bambiferret if she still has it.
Ashea Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 An other downside to making an exhibit too large is that guest (if you are worried about how they feel) may not be able to see the animals in the exhibit. The guest can only see so many squares into the exhibit - I don't remember if it is 6 or 10 squares.....

I try to put the less popular animals near the entrance of the zoo but: 1) I don't know the popularity of non-ingame animals. 2) I like to give the whale shark and other big or traveling animals plenty of room to roam around to convey the vastness of their habitat. 3) ZTUF "Stormy's Flower Map" is one of my favorites maps and it is a challenge to lure people to the ends of the "petals" and build in such curving shapes. I will post screenshots of my experiments within a couple weeks. fountain
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 From personal experience, you can make huge tanks and they can work. I've had one tank go all the way across the back of the zoo wall. It was more than 10 spaces deep and maybe more than 100 across. I always use the Superhack to keep the tank clean. I make sure there is plenty of area that is totally free of any plants, rocks, shelters, etc. so the staff can place food easily, and make sure there are plenty of staff assigned to the tank. There were several whales in it, can't remember just how many now, but the exhibit was never a problem. I do remember that guests will go past other types of animals to get to the marine exhibits, especially when you have a show announced. I've never seen the map you mention, I'll have to check that out.
