fountain Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I have read the height individual info where available and Jay's -- :adore: :254: for all the info and patient explanations contributed to various sites!! -- of what height means in ZT and here are a few queries with illus: #1: Using Zootan's ht 1 white fence I know guest can see over it. Waterfall fence is ht 1-- Can guests see over it? (The fence is on the landings, both sides, between the blue stairs & behind sea lion statue, plus overlooking the elephant seal tank at lower left.) It looks kinda cool as if is lighted from within LEDs. If gets can see over it it would be cool to have color-changing fences or say a yellow or green "shimmery" decor fence. #2: Must the path be the same height as the tank top to see into the glass-wall tank if there is A) the aforementioned white fence? B) the ht 1 waterfall fence? I ask because at the highest part of the pathway guests never seemed to comment or stop and look at the polar bear exhibit until I raised the path seemingly even with the tank top & took down those fences. Originally had a "cliff gap"/moat of 1 sq between the path and exhibit and a the in-game white non-picket fence. No guest seemed to comment or stop and look on the bears until I widen the path to meet the edge of the polar bears tank. C) could the guests not see in because of the height difference? Above is an informal i.e., not literal game path, to access between exhibits shortening maintenance's walk time when repairing exhibit walls separating the zoo within the neighborhood. If I put Genki's? concrete gate-arch there w/o the thatched decor fencing will guests feel compelled to explore and enter parts of the city where I do not want them? Yes, they will have their chance farther back in the zoo to visit parts of the revitalized city. (This is the Lgcity jungle map courtesy of Zoo Grammy. :254: ) I will explain the backstory of this zoo when i am ready to post more screenshots. :t108002: Thanks in advance for clarifications!!
Fern Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 From Jay: I cannot answer the questions concerning the fences. My testing was with land exhibits on flat terrain. As for the arch question, it does not actually have anything to do with arches. If something is on the other side of the arch that guests can see and want to get to, ZT will see if there is a way to get them there via a path. But if there is no route via a path, ZT will have guests walk off the path they are currently on to get there. - Jay
