Anagram Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I've recently begun playing ZT2 again (because let's face it: 3D giraffes.) And after finally getting it to install I was playing it blissfully for one full day before it gave me an error. The game loaded properly, no problems there, and loading my free-range farm zoo didn't give me any trouble either. My trouble came about when I tried to zoom. The game wasn't registering that my mouse had a scroll-wheel, which is an irritating issue that can thankfully be worked around. My real problem is that when the scroll-wheel isn't being picked up, neither is the keyboard -- I can't do anything in zookeeper mode but walk around, and since I like taking care of the zoo myself, that's a real issue. My question is as follows: does anyone know what could cause this issue? The mouse's scroll works sometimes, but now it will not, and whenever the mouse goes the keyboard does. If it helps, I'll post some information. I'm playing the original Zoo Tycoon 2 with all the expansion packs installed one-at-a-time; I don't have Zookeeper Collection or anything like that, but I do have all the official downloads installed as well as a few mods (Aurora Designs reskins, but not the interface redesign, though I'm considering it.) My laptop specs are thus: Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-75 2.29GHz 4.00GB RAM 64-bit OS And it has tablet PC functionality but who cares about that. The keyboard is... literally the laptop keyboard, and my mouse is a corded Logitech laser mouse that I cherish which has never given me any trouble before. (I can get the actual ID number if that will help?) The issue is only happening within ZT2; I am scrolling spiritedly as ever while I navigate the web, and clearly my keyboard is functioning properly. xD I don't know if that info will help, but I thought I should post it just in case. Anyway, I haven't been able to find information on this problem at all through google (it's probably just me, huh,) so I thought I would come here and ask the ZT2-savvy ZooTek about it. Thank you for reading all of this! EDIT:// Oh, I seem to have found a small work-around for this troublesome occurrence? When I've got the game up, if I windows-key back to the desktop without exiting the game, and then un-minimize ZT2, suddenly I can scroll, etcetera? I find that interesting and somewhat nonsensical, but I won't look a gift giraffe in the mouth. Should I leave this up in case someone else runs across this problem, or should I delete this thread?
slg Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 It could be caused by one of the user-made downloads. I have never heard of this issue before.
