Sktypo Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Before posting more updates on my fantasy and myth zoo,i decided to show you a little something i'm working on.I recently downloaded APE 2.5.Unfortunately,it only gives me animals from the first ZT1,no dinosaurs or sea animals. However,i still decided to create my own creature in it and here it is: It's a Nile Crocodile,as you can see.I'm perfectly aware that there are already lots and lots of fanmade Nile Crocs for the first ZT,but i decided to give APE a try by doing something easy, since i'm a rookie designer. It's still in progress.I've already coded its information and its location, but there are still things to do.My game is in Spanish, but i'll do an english version too. They can swim in freshwater too. However,i still need to recolor the model and fix a small trouble. When i put the croc in his exhibit,he always displays a red sad face. The zookeepers say i need to give him a mate.Whenever i add a female croc to the exhibit, both show the red sad faces.I gotta solve this as soon as possible.
WaterDragoon Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I commend your effort thus far and I know you will get this sorted
dr rick Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 the usual reason for this is to be found in the [cCompatibleAnimals] section of the uca. I use something like: cGenus = 5 (for matching genus where available) in this case crocodile 5123 cFamily = 10 (for matching family) in this case crocodile 5213 cFamily = 5 (for compatible family) anything you want to be able to share the enclosure... cFamily = -10 (for incompatible family where these share the same habitat) canimal's own APE id number = 5 cother user created animal APE id number = 5 for my own compatible animals where i specifically intend them to live in the same enclosure) so I would put at least the following [cCompatibleAnimals] v = 5123 v = 5 v = 5213 v = 10 v = your animal's ape id number v = 5 all of which is designed to make sure that nice compatible combinations get lots of nice green smily faces does that help?
Firehawke Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 This looks great!!! You should be very proud of yourself for giving this a try!

pukkie Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I do wonder as the nile crocodile is more gray then green if there could be one made that looks more like the natural grayish one
WaterDragoon Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 He did mention at the bottom of his first post that he was going to recolor the model :)
