About This File

Description:

Many Dinosaur Digs hacks in the past modify the same ".ai" files of the animals/items, making these hacks incompatible to one another.  This hack aims to unify and update the features found in those hacks to offer you the ultimate package that improves your overall Dinosaur Digs experience while getting as close as possible to the scientific rigor of 2020 palaeontology.

 

List of older hacks incorporated in this package:

- No Grass, Please! by P.Rex, RaptorKlaw 2.0, and Vondell.

- Larger Triceratops by P.Rex.
- Reality Hack by Wolv12 (Some elements, not the entire hack, were incorporated to complement "No Grass, Please!").
- DDvarPatch by Borsato.

- No Egg Hack + Attractiveness Boost Hack by Penguino.

 

New features include (but are not limited to) a new diet for Caudipteryx, new purchase icons to match the animals' new terrain preferences, and having more dinosaurs capable of eating guests!

V1.3 Patch notes (Sep 20/2026)

 

Over 6 years since V1.0! This is the most extensive update so far.

  1. Many plants can now be placed on water or submerged in tanks for flooded forest builds.
  2. Long text tooltips denoting geological age range for official foliage in the original "No Grass, Please" (NGP) can finally be injected using a new lang file (lang660-PlantEra-override). The text is under a new formatting so it's not a 1:1 reproduction of NGP, however.
  3. Heavy revisions on naming, inclusion, locations, time periods, and tooltip texts for many foliage. Credits to Dakota for doing some groundwork on foliage stratigraphic range. Vondell granted me permission to edit and bundle the non-habitat versions of their NGP plants.
    For detailed notes on these changes, please refer to the long-form note within the .zip file.
  4. Expand animal's object preferences (e.g., Lambeosaurus can accept highland items now).
  5. More powerful herbivores. Place some small carnivores or delete their fence to find out.

 

File bundling

  1. Include a special standalone file that updates icons and fixes some unintended issues in "No Grass, Please" v1.5. Use it if you prefer playing with NGP instead of the combined hack.
  2. Remove Borsato's ui99 & lang files, now that they are officially hosted, maintained, and updated elsewhere.

If there is anyone else who needs to know, signatures only show on the desktop version of the website. If you're accessing the forum via smart phone (like me), turn on your browser app's desktop view setting.

Corrected file has been submitted for update almost a day ago. You can keep an eye on the Zooberry thread to see when it's online.

@Lichosaurus hi there! Can you provide your operation system and which program you are using to unzip the files? It do want to aim for wide compatibility so that I don't have to maintain troubleshooting for along time or offer multiple zips.

Here is me testing the package downloaded from Tek with zero issue.

Hi, it's Windows 11 and I used Windows system app for unzipping. Maybe I will try with WinRAR :)
