AnewZoocreator Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 I build zoos quite chaotically (even to the extent that I sometimes don't notice if all animals die of old age or something), make big exhibits and little landscaping. And I use many, many different files as can be seen from the animals and buildings. My focus is entirely on building the exhibits... 1
AnewZoocreator Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 One of my favourite joint exhibits: Andrewsarchus, Peary Caribou, Rinchenia, and Moose (or Elk?) (it's the ingame moose anyway)! 1
AnewZoocreator Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 On purpose: A pyramid shelter (from the lovely "Wild Life Animal Shelters" pack, pretty much the first mod I downloaded after being approved here!) in the snow/gray stone-type terrain that a Peary Caribou needs! 1
AnewZoocreator Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 And here, the Lowland Anoa. In my youth, namely when I was 16 and travelling to Hamburg, I had a slight argument with my mother. When we were at Hagenbecks Tierpark, my mother was a bit tired already and wanted to go home (i.e. into our holiday flat), but I wanted to see the Lowland Anoa (one of the unknown animals I already knew at the age of five). In the end, we did head for the anoa exhibit... And now I can make an exhibit for it! 2 1
AnewZoocreator Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 The four (significant) unused areas of my zoo: Terrain shows that, before the last violent restart, the area was indeed used and part of one or more exhibit(s) . Some hours ago, I abandoned keeping Bactrian Camels. They were always unhappy, got ill etc. In such cases, I rarely change the terrain before building a new exhibit. Stegodon was always unhappy and trampled all its plants and even its shelter to rubble despite high suitability. The Iberian Lynx exhibit went far better, but at some point, all had died of old age and I had no idea yet how to use this part. To the left is an entirely unused area with its terrain from before the last violent restart. And this, before the last violent restart, was part of a Sivatherium exhibit. Don't know whether I cwill make something in the long, but narrow area to the left of the DBT-Station (that's the German term and means "Dinosaur Recovery Team Station): 1
AnewZoocreator Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 Recently expanded the Red Deer exhibit. "Terraforming" is the first thing I'll do when I play again. 1
AnewZoocreator Posted June 9, 2020 Author Posted June 9, 2020 I sold all my Blue Macaws - they bred far too often (indeed I would say they bred like rabbits) and the exhibit was beginning to be too small - and, thanks to @Cricket's new file - adopted Ligabueinos! And indeed! That's a lovely example of sexual dimorphism (of course, the true nature of Ligabueino isn'tknown, but that is the case with all or almost all dinosaurs that their colour etc. is unknown) - red females, a blue male, and blue young. 2
AnewZoocreator Posted June 9, 2020 Author Posted June 9, 2020 Two more exhibits only possible thanks to the lovely additional uploads by @Cricket today: All colours of flamingoes! When the exhibit was always "too small", I expanded it with the other half of the former horse and the former Shetland Pony exhibit. both had been empty for a while now, and I had given half of it to the Red Deer already. And this was the result: And the colourful ostriches: 2
