I agree with the freshwater fish request, especially North American species. :begging: I wanted to make a zoo with a Washington DC section, but I could not locate any fish one would find living in the Potomac River.

I have managed to download the zipped kitties file Cricket. Thanks for uploading.

HeatherL, downloading the individual files was my plan B.

@Goosifer@Hawkkeye666 so I did some rough counts today and can confirm that flipping the flag does little to the file load limit in the menu. I did get 1400 animals loaded in my game menu, but I attribute that to me splitting the .ztds to deal with the 191-192 animals per .ztd limit.

However, since we know the old 2GB limit applies to loaded entities in a single game, perhaps a better use of this memory cap is stabilizing performance in large complicated zoos. If someone has a big zoo that has been lagging/crashing frequently, they should test this method.

Also, @Hawkkeye666, I believe your Bohor Reedbuck still has a buggy icon, and will the reworked cat pack be available as individual ztds?

Thanks for info. Would it be possible to increase the limit by decreasing the size of animal .ztds?

Individual animal files are on my google drive.

No idea. I checked Jay's article on game limits again and apparently the total number of items per menu (and of the entire game) is 3000. So perhaps someone can try loading 10 ztds with about 192 animals each to see if all of them can be read by the game.

I tried it. Here is what happens (check page 115 of this topic):

I have a problem... When I put new animals in ZT, my purchase menu stops working and only show few animals from the bottom of it, while I cannot purchase them:

It seems to work as intented when I apply only Zoo Tyccon, Marine Mania, or Dinosaur Digs filter.

Is that I have too many animals in ZT? I read there´s 3,000 items limit in purchasing menu, but I only have fewer than 2,000 animals.

PS: what is the problem with Bohor reedbuck? I check it on my zt and can´t find anything.

Interesting phenomenon. I will see if I can replicate it.

The copy of the Bohor reedbuck on the Drive has a bugged icon.

And this is new, but while going through the files to prepare for the replication, I noticed a few things about the bisons:

  1. There are two versions of the steppe bison on the Drive, one in DD, the other in ZT. Which one is newer? Or are they the same?
  2. The long-horned and steppe bisons are in the ZT filter, but the ancient and B. occidentalis (feels weird that there isn't a widespread common name for this guy as opposed to other bisons) are in the DD filter.
  3. Was the grey ancient bison (Bison antiquus) based on a steppe bison model? In real life the former is usually bulkier, but shorter-horned than the latter.

My version of Bohor reedbuck works normally. I uploaded it to my google drive. I hope it works now.

I deleted extinct bisons from ZT folder, and uploaded the newest versions to DD folder.

Bison antiquus should be Austroraptor´s steppe bison with enlarged hump. I am thinking about reworking these bisons (except long horned, that guy looks great), back when I made them I wasn´t very good at making changes in models.

Thanks for noticing me, well spotted.

The updated version on the Drive still has the same issue. The icon path in the .uca file refers to a non-existent folder.
