Maybe next week or weekend after next? I must do some testing and also I am thinking about decreasing the size of American beaver a little (the lighter one). What do you think? And Zarawatto has made very good-looking breaver lodge and dam to go with the beavers...

You know, I heard once that the size of a beaver depends on the latitude. The further north one travels, the larger the beavers grow. You may be able to get away with that size if it could be an Alaskan beaver. :moosebud:

I had problems downloading Kitties as I mentioned on 24th July. On 25th July MarkBL20 advised that it could be my Internet.

I can't download the Pinnipeds file. My internet speed is 150Mbps.

My Latency unloaded is 4ms. My Latency loaded is 26ms.  My upload speed is 29Mbps.

All this means nothing to me.

Please can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

What you were referring to actually has a name - Bergmann's rule. It applies to other familiar land mammals like bears and moose too.

@Hawkkeye666 My two cents is that while the Eurasian beaver is slightly heavier on average, the maximum recorded size for American beaver is higher, so it could go either way. A more interesting detail is that, while all known coat colours are shared between the two species, the occurrence % for pale/beige coat is much higher in Eurasian beavers (66%). About 50% of American beavers have pale brown fur, but not beige.  So maybeee the better change is to swap the two species.

I'll do the last changes to the lodges to upload them as well!

Sorry for late answer, first, I had problem with logging in, and forgot my password, now my laptop crashed and my last backup was from last year. So beavers are postponed.

Maybe I will switch the beaver species, I will have to do some more research on it.

That would be great thank you!

And release... Saimaa ringed seal got its species status (which I am quite unconvinced of, because of its genetics, even though I absolutely understand that from morphological and especially conservation regarding perspective), so here it is.

I can´t give you a picture, you must check in APE or ingame. I haven´t installed ZT yet.

Many years ago, I also had a catastrophic hard drive crash midway through working on a beaver that caused me to not finish it. The one with the modular dam and lodge and the aspen trees.

Let this be a warning for anyone else considering working on beavers for ZT1 in the future ...

That´s just convinced me to release the beavers even more. I was able to save them, and I just need to decrease the size of one of them, and maybe switch their species.

But Zarawatto is working on a beaver lodge and dam... May the god be with his hdd.

I can confirm this beaver curse. My old laptop didn't crash, but is too slow and barely usable... Besides it doesn't support most ZT mod software anymore
