Fern Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 You still might like to do some duplicates if you feel the habitat is not what you would do. Or you might find better graphics. Some (3 or 4) of these were released at ABC way back. All were done as individual files originally. Most of the updates being done are to reduce the tiles needed per animal from 15 to 5 and in some cases like the pelican I changed the food from hay to fish. Plus adding an English txt file as msc3323 is from Germany.

MSC3323 has great looking animals, and he is true designer, making his own graphics. I have already made some (common crane, capercaillie) and I will release them in the future, so people can choose which one they use, but I think it would be redundant with other birds. 1

fountain Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Looking forward to the "cleaned up" birds especially the Shoebill & Secretary birds. Thanks Fern. Hawkeye, I am enjoying your Aquarium groups series and those tanks are popular with guests. To both of you & other animal designers please remember, if it is possible, put in donation values. Happy user-made animals seem to not generate much & sometimes zero donation money. This seems to be true no matter who creates the animal. So glad of your dedication and skills. fountain 1

Hawkkeye666 Posted August 14, 2021 Author Posted August 14, 2021 Quite nice African aviary, I would say. Secretary bird, Abyssinian ground hornbill and black crowned crane. I really couldn´t decide which crowned crane to use in my zoo - there are great looking crowned cranes by RSN, Borsato, and MSC3323. So instead of deciding, I made my own. These feathery fiends are going to be released after I finish releasing my aquariums, in larger packs with more other cranes (grey crowned, sandhill, eurasian, whooping, black-necked, sarus), raptors (some large eagles, bearded vulture, caracara, seriema) and hornbills (knobbed and both ground species). 2 1

I guess this query is because of the Jungle Junk Asiatic Lion. When Jeff originally did the pack it was part of a scenario we think. He gave string ids to everything, including scenery. Then the ids were re-allocated thinking they hadn't been used. Jay being Jay decided to see if he could get the animal to still be researchable without it being a hack. All the ingame researchable animals and buildings are hacks which can lead to conflicts when a user made one is done. However for both the donation and the research the animal has to have a string id and be in a dll. Giving user made animals is not a good idea - only because there are a limited amount of ids available and we ran out once. Jane had a large amount of id sets and found out how easy it is to use them all up which is why she redid all her shelters to use the one set of ids, so she could reuse the others for new buildings. Here is what Jay said when I asked him: Jay: As far as I know, there is no animal configuration setting that sets a donation value for that animal. When a guest enters the zoo, ZT selects their favorite animal among the animals that have ".dll" ID numbers, which is mostly animals that come with ZT. When that guest sees that animal in the zoo and that animal is happy, then the guest might give a donation. The donation amount is random. It is also possible to create an award for the first time something occurs, such as for when the first baby of an animal occurs. But those awards also need ".dll" ID numbers. Since the award only occurs once, it is usually not worth it to make a ".dll" ID number just for that purpose. Fern: I think he was asking cos of the asian lion from jungle junk. Jay: The optional donation concerning the Asiatic Lion in Jungle Junk is the second part of what I said in my previous post. It is a one-time donation given as an award when the first baby of the Asiatic Lion occurs. To make it work, the animal needs to have a ".dll" ID number. Since the award only occurs once, it is usually not worth it to make an animal use a ".dll" ID number just for the purpose of a one-time donation. In the case of the Asiatic Lion, it has a ".dll" ID number so that it can be optionally researched. When Jeff created the Asiatic Lion, he had it needing to be researched, although his version was a hack. I updated it so that it is not a hack and so that the research is optional.
