fountain Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Really nice job! I particularly like the pink fountain square and the clouded leopard exhibit screenshot. :autumn:
Kreek Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 :24: I told myself the same thing :risitas6ba0: Here I am 4 years later and far from done playing with this game :24: Haha, consider me warned. thank you all for the wonderful comments. It's good to hear what you all liked. I was unsure about the clouded leopard exhibit and the bridge. Here's some more screens. Going into the turtle/salt water croc area: Coming onto a square with a relaxation area to the left, along with the crocodile's observation windows. Now, here is where I got into trouble. My initial goal was for the guests to come onto the square and find the dolphin observation area straight ahead. Then let them let them follow the route along the shark tunnel and all the way to the orca's. BUT the guests started pooling in the dolphin observation area, they got all unhappy. So I was forced to create a path between two tanks back to the Zoo entrance. (I had not heard of the underwatertunnels back then) Personally I don't like it. I think because I hate that the game forces you to create a path where I don't want a path. Anyway, here's the screens: And along the path I originally intended along the shark exhibit toward the orca platform. Around this time I discovered the downloads! Path is opening up on an autumn square, in the tank are moray eals: That's it for now. Not my best bit of zoo. I find tank building hard. I also don't have shows. This is because when I adjust the bottom of a show tank, the tank looses it's 'connection' to the show stands and guests walked right passed them. When I would save, I also would lose all my research. I could not solve this problem, so deleted the shows I originally had planned in this area. Any comments on these problems (the pooling people problem, and show stand problem) would be very welcome.
Firehawke Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I love the screenshots! The landscaping is beautiful! And those guests are just crazy :sFi_hammer: Don't have any suggestions for the problem, though. Good luck!
Kreek Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Thanks Firehawke for your compliment. It means a lot to me. Pukkie, thank you for pm'ing me on the show tank problem. I now know not to save in the middle of bottom and tank wall hight adjustments! :sEm_oops: No new pics yet. Hopefully at the end of the week. Work, work, work, But the good thing is that next week I have the whole week off... and I'm already planning to fill it with lots of ZT. Does that make me a game addict?
(Admin)Cricket Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 yes, it does ... but you're in good company! great screens, Kreek! i'm anxious to see more ...
pukkie Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 yeah me too and can't you make it happen I get a vacation too? I am so jealous
Kreek Posted October 23, 2010 Author Posted October 23, 2010 Yay, finally, I'm on my autumn break. One of the few upsides of working in education. The rest is just a lot of stress, but I won't bore you with that. Zoo tycoon is a great way to relax and focus on something else. Thank you Cricket for the compliment, and Pukkie et all, I really feel like I'm among 'addicted' friends here. :th_hapydancsmil: Here are the final screens of my first Zoo: The autumn part: Back to the entrance: The winter part: Leaving the winter square, passing the siberian tigers and beluga's. Ending with something special, the unicorns: That's it for my first Zoo. This was just me getting the hang of this game. I want to thank to whom it may concern for all the wonderful downloads! I've already started a new Zoo! A small one this time, just to play with some of those downloads. Hope it's okay that I post those pics too. And thank you again for the encouragement.
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 What a nice zoo! I especially like the entrance :vishenka_34:
pukkie Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Kreek your zoo is very appealing to me. Your screens are absolutely great! And I love them a lot
Ashea Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Good Job Kreek! Your exhibits flow nicely from one to the other. About the guest getting stuck, could there have been something blocking their path? Sometimes even quarter-tile objects will cause a blockage. If they get stuck again, you might try removing objects around where you want them to go until they start moving out. Had a group stuck once and discovered the building footprint was bigger than I thought... I am really enjoying your screens!
