fountain Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 Hey Fountain, the pics of your zoo are really terrific. And, I'm to impatient to get stats that high!! :loveboat::balloons: I have not tried to make guests really happy. I check out the angry ones sometimes. I do pay attention to the game's announcements of problems with guests. The highest guest happiness I've had --this was a few years ago-- was with a zoo of 4 exhibits in the middle (2 keepers) and a path around that where I was checking out many new (to me) Halloween theme downloads. All the spooky restaurants, food, drink, and gift stands, restrooms, and rides and scary buildings on the outer side of the path and scattered a few autumn flowers and trees. --99% guest happiness without even trying!!! I could not believe it!! I just stared at the stats. So you want a design challenge? How about a fireworks shower-of-sparks or burst that develops into a dragon or a pumpkin shape or ghost and then "dissolves" then repeats some time later? It doesn't have to happen really fast. Or maybe the shapes could form from the in-game steam vent. Or show up in the tar pit recolored green or purple... Or a tankable ghost wearing fins and a snorkel.
JohnT Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 A tankable ghost wearing fins and snorkel!!! What a great Halloween scenery item. Hey Fern, let's ask Dr. Rick to do one!! 99% guest happiness! :290: 96% is the highest I've every gotten. :balloons::loveboat::t108008::t108018::t108002:
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I have really enjoyed looking at the pics as this zoo developed. You have some real sticktuitiveness to keep working and then reworking some areas. It is a wonderful project. Did I read somewhere that this empty map is available somewhere?

Did I read somewhere that this empty map is available somewhere? http://www.zootycoonunleashed.com stormy's flower map is in the Downloads, "Misc" section. It comes covered with path squares in the "petals" and "leaves" that have grass underneath. The center is savannah grass. I think about making elevated observations in this zoo but my focus is getting as many birds and their prey as possible in it and gathering screenshots for the animals to include as reference in my folders. Now I am trying to raise funds to do the last two petals. Since I have been staying up way too late absorbed in ZT I promised myself no working on my zoo tonight. Plus I have to be up relatively early tomorrow.
Firehawke Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Good luck raising the money...I hate it when I have to do that!
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 There are some hacks that make the staff salaries $0 which can help a lot. But if you don't want to cheat, it can be a challenge when you have to maintain a lot of staff in a big zoo. You can run up the concession costs, or maybe there will be a lot of births so you can sell off the parents. With all the hacks and cheats, we have all been totally spoiled and don't have to really try to keep the zoo afloat. Great project!

Here I thought people were making an honest zoo-living. :gnomesmileyf: I sell a lot of animals and keep 1 or 2 breeding pairs. Are the $0 salary hacks on this site?
fountain Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Not great looking changes but an experiment with tank on a flat surface. The tanks become more than 10sq with making it harder see the swimming Humboldt Penquins. I experimented in a cleared Kids Map and learned the Galapagos Penquins are not upset by the tank but do not use it. Will post more soon.
