  1. European Unicorn by Ghirin

    European Unicorn by Ghirin

The unicorn's name comes from two Latin words, and means "one horn." Unicorns today are extremely rare in the wild.

Historically, unicorns have been found throughout the world, with sub-species existing in China, Tibet, Japan, India, Europe and the Middle East.

The unicorn has a wide range of appearances, depending on the subspecies. For example, the Chinese unicorn is shaped like a large stag, having a mane, cloven hooves, and multi-colored skin. This variant has a musical, bell-like call. The Indian unicorn is large and white, resembling a wild ass, with a red head and dark blue eyes. Julius Caesar described the European unicorn as resembling a deer, while later accounts from the Middle Ages depicted the unicorn as more of a goat-like creature, with a tail similar to that of a lion. The unicorns most familiar to modern eyes are descendants of the European unicorn, and are larger, with white horse-like bodies.

  8. Rainbow Unicorn by Genkicoll

These Rainbow Unicorns have been raised in captivity, and are thus very comfortable with humans. They are not shy, and unlike many unicorns, are very social creatures.
The unicorn's name comes from two Latin words, and means "one horn." Rainbow Unicorns today are somewhat rare in the wild. Historically, unicorns have been found throughout the world, with sub-species existing in China, Tibet, Japan, India, Europe and the Middle East.

The unicorn's horn is both the source of its mystique and the reason this animal is scarce in the wild today. Even more than the horn of the rhinoceros, the unicorn's horn is valued by collectors for its alleged mystical powers and healing properties. Due to the long-standing belief that it can detect and neutralize poison, drinking vessels made from the unicorn's horn were greatly prized during the Middle Ages. The horn also came to symbolize medicine, as it was attributed with the power to cure a number of ailments, including stomach problems, scurvy, dropsy, epilepsy and even depression.

This animal is fully compatible with the in-game unicorn, but there are a few small differences that should make it more enjoyable to play with: They do not have to have a shelter, but will be perfectly happy to have one in the exhibit (ignore the message that says there are too many shelters in the exhibit, they still like them ). They will like exhibit-neutral items such as user-made foliage, and they have longer life-spans than the in-game unicorn.

  9. Midnight Unicorn by Jordan

Midnight Unicorns are stunningly black and beautiful creatures living in mountainous regions of Eurasia. Idea by Genki.

The Midnight Unicorn is so-named due to the coloring of the male. Black as the darkest, moonless night, the stallion is stunningly beautiful to behold. Smoky in color, the mare is beautiful in her own right, exuding the elegance known to the species. Found primarily in the highlands, these creatures easily traverse mountainous regions. These amazing creatures have been known to appear to lost climbers in the various mountain ranges of Eurasia, having been reported from the Alps to the Himalayas. When the tales are later shared, the sightings are written off as illusions plaguing weary and worried souls.

  12. The Grinch by Genkicoll

The Grinch lives just North of Who-ville. Every Who likes Christmas a lot, but the Grinch... did not.
The Grinch hates everything about Christmas, especially the noise, noise, noise! His greatest wish is to keep Christmas from coming, to hear all those Whos cry out, boo-hoo-hoo. Will the Grinch ever learn to like Christmas?

Mr. Grinch has a large belly, long fingers and is covered in green hair. His fingers and feet look longer due to the long portions of hair coming off of them. He has large, sinister black eyebrows, and deep lines on his forehead. His mouth lines are subtle when he is in a neutral mood, yet very stretched when he is happy. He has a pair of brooding, deep-set, yellow ovoid eyes with red irises. In the book, his eyes are pink with black irises, while in the movie, they are yellow with black irises. Another physical characteristic noted to change after the Grinch learns the true meaning of Christmas is his face, which in addition to the line softening mentioned above, becomes somewhat heart-shaped as he smiles broadly. A long neck is prominent, with layers of green fur coming down it. He seems to have pockets in the fur of his large stomach, as he rests his hands inside this area. With regard to posture, he is loose and can bend easily. He often walks in stealth-mode when around Whos. - Source Wikipedia

Sources say that The Hand was somehow animated by Dr. Frankenstein, and that it somehow escaped from its holding in Frankenstein's castle.

This creature does not truly eat or sleep, it is mindless and directionless, seeking only to exist. Hair-raising to watch, The Hand is sure to horrify and electrify your zoo guests.

This creature does not reproduce. Does not require a shelter, but will be happy with a rock cave or burrow if you decide that you want one.

  14. Honey Island Swamp Monster by Ghirin

Sightings of the Honey Island Swamp monster date back generations. Before the Europeans arrived, the local Amerindians called the creature Letiche, which they believed to be an abandoned child raised by alligators.

Recent sightings have described a large, two-legged creature with gray hair and yellow eyes. It is reported to have a horrible smell, like death itself and the Swamp Mosters has been blamed for many local area deaths of humans and animals.

  17. Sea Breeze Unicorn by Jordan

The Sea Breeze Unicorn is a shy, but friendly animal that lives in coastal, wooded areas. Legend says that these unicorns were once sea-bound creatures, whose light footsteps allowed them to run across the water. Sailors in the North Atlantic would claim to have seen herds of hundreds of them running across the sea and called them the "steeds of Poseidon". (He was the god of horses too!) But more recently, these peaceful creatures were driven from the ocean by the deadly Kraken. Although they have adapted to life on land, they still love the ocean and prefer to remain close to it.

  18. Kelpie by Ghirin

    Kelpie Author: Ghirin

The kelpie is one of the water spiritis of Scotland. It dwells near sources of fresh running water, unlike the each uisge, which haunts lochs (lakes) and sea-related bodies of water.

The kelpie is known both for its ability to change shape and it fondness for human flesh. A kelpie can appear in several forms. One is that of a beautiful, bridled tame horse (often black or white) standing by a riverside. Any unwary traveller who tries to mount the horse for a ride across the river will find him-/hersself plunged into the deepest part of the river or stream and quickly drowned, then eaten.

Kelpies may also take humanoid forms, such as that of an attractive young man or woman (depending on the gender of the kelpie) or of a hairy person. Both of these forms are just as dangerous as the horse form.

Kelpies are sometimes confused with the more benign neugle, a water-horse that also entices riders onto its back. Unlike the kelpie, the neugle will often let its victim escape after a sound drenching.

Kelpies can be captured and they make a powerful draft animals. However this is dangerous because when the kelpie regains it's freedom, it will often curse the family/clan of the person who captured it.

  21. Black Dog by Ghirin

Black Dogs are found in the folklore of both England and Scotland. These creature are usually described as the size of calves with shaggy black hair and glowing red eyes. Black Dogs are often encountered in places of transition in human lives such and bridges and crossroads. Some Black Dogs are said to guard ancient treasures or sacred places from trespassers.

The exact nature of Black Dogs varies from place to place. If left alone, many Black Dogs are benign; howeever, if a person attempts to strike out or otherwise engage such a dog, that person will be savagely attacked and maybe even killed. In some places, merely seeing a Black Dog is a portent of death while in other places Black Dogs are said to lead lost travelers to safety.

  24. Marvin Martian by Genkicoll

Description : Here is the much talked about surprise for pukkie. There are 9 sound files included, though you have to be patient to hear them all

Marvin hails from the planet Mars, but is often found elsewhere. He is often accompanied by his dog "K-9," and sometimes by other creatures.

Marvin wears a Roman soldier's uniform (a reference to Mars being the Roman god of war) with old-fashioned basketball shoes. His head is a black sphere with only eyes for features. The crest of his helmet appears, with the "push broom" like upper section, to resemble an ancient Greek Hoplite's helmet.

On numerous occasions, Marvin has tried to destroy the Earth, as it obstructs his view of Venus, with his Illudium Pu-36 Explosive Space Modulator.

Marvin will like anything in his exhibit, with one exception: He does not like the cold!

  25. Fouke Monster by Moondawg

The Fouke Monster is a legendary cryptid reported near the town of Fouke in Miller County, Arkansas during the early 1970s, where it was accused of attacking a local family.

Initial sightings of the creature were concentrated in the Jonesville/Boggy Creek area, where it was blamed for the death of local livestock. Later, sightings were made several hundred miles to the north and the east of Fouke.

The creature was named by journalist Jim Powell, who reported on it for the Texarkana Gazette and the Texarkana Daily News.

The Fouke Monster was also covered by the state desk headed by Norman L. Richardson of the Shreveport Times. It has been the subject of several films and a number of books.

Various reports of the creature made between 1971 and 1974 described the creature as being a large hominid-like creature covered in long dark hair, which was estimated to be about 7 feet (2.1 m) tall with a weight of 250-300 pounds. Witnesses said that its chest was about 3 feet (0.91 m) wide. Later reports, published during the early 1980s, claimed that it was far larger, with one report describing it as 10 feet (3.0 m) tall, with an estimated weight of 800 pounds.

Some accounts describe the Fouke Monster as running in a 'hunched/slouched' posture and swinging its arms in a similar fashion to a monkey. Reports also describe it as having a terrible odor and as having bright red eyes, about the size of silver dollars.

A variety of tracks and claw marks have been discovered which are claimed to belong to the creature. One set of foot prints reportedly measured 17 inches (430 mm) in length and 7 inches (180 mm) wide, another appeared to show that the creature only had three toes.

    The Legend of Boggy Creek
The Legend of Boggy Creek is a 1972 documentary-style film dealing with an alleged creature known as the "Fouke Monster", a Bigfoot-like being seen in and around Fouke, Arkansas since the 1940s. The film mixes interviews with local residents who claim to have had encountered the creature with dramatic/fictitious reenactments of said encounters. Charles B. Pierce, an ad salesman from Texarkana on the Arkansas/Texas border, borrowed $160,000 from a local trucking company, used an old movie camera, and hired locals, mainly high school and college students, to make the 87 minute long film in 1972. It generated $20 million in revenue, and is now on DVD.

The film sets out to question the existence of the Fouke Monster, a creature that is reportedly seen mainly by hunters and ranchers. It is over 8 feet tall with a slender build and long legs and arms. It is completely covered in hair and has three toes on its feet, as indicated by tracks seen in a creek bank.

Several locals from the small town of Fouke, Arkansas recall their stories, often appearing as themselves. In one scene, a police officer states that it crossed a road in front of him at 30-35 mph, in another, the creature attacks some people in a house; they fire on it, but it sends one of them to the hospital. In another scene, hunters attempt to chase the creature with dogs, but the dogs refuse to go after it. In other scenes, the narrator states that people have shot at it, incl. that a juvenile had shot at it. They claimed that the creature has killed 500lb-600lb hogs, deer, other animals and had eaten them. In a close up scene, a kitten is shown as being killed by the monster. In the end, the creature escapes all attempts to hunt it, and locals debate over whether it is dead, or still out there.
