  1. Some actual new contents this time. I have never been a fan of how hay-yellow the bison is and how there is a greenish yellow tinge on the grizzly bear, so I decided to brownie-fy (or chocolat-ey) them. Partly inspired by Jymn and Serpy's recent palette edits. The top versions are the ones I think I will settle on. But I did experiment about 6-7 different versions for each animal. Sadly there is no variant support in ZT1. Wood bisons and wisents are quite noticeably different from the American plains bison, but I can see the grizzly alts be repurposed to some other brown bear subspecies in the future.

  6. @HeatherL I got the young bison to use a separate palette now, but I can't seem to introduce sexual dimorphism to the adult bisons. We are still lacking resources on hex editing, but theoretically this should be possible since Jymn did a number of them. Anyway, I sidequested a little bit. This is a hack that I have configured a while ago but only got around to compiling them into a file just now upon a request from Khaydar. Underwater volcanoes are well-known, and they spew lava right to the ocean floor despite all that water pressure above them, so it stands for reason that we should be allowed to place the volcanoes ingame underwater too. Another structure associated with volcanic activity on the ocean floor is the hydrothermal vent. Sadly we don't quite have anything like that in the game yet. I decided to chuck the existing steam vents and geysers too so they can function as makeshift hydrothermal vents. Aside from tank compatibility, I also made them exhibit neutral, indestructible, and reduce their footprints for easier landscaping. I know some users prefer new items over hacks. While I don't have time to turn these into unique items, anyone who want to do so are welcomed to take a jab at them. Otherwise, the hack should have no impact on your old zoos. Credits to Pixigger's Exhibit Scenery for inspiring me to find ways to make more existing scenery items exhibit-friendly. The file has been submitted to Zooberry and should be available soonish. Here is an example enclosure, as a bonus.

  12. I wasn´t content with these two, so I took them down, and planned to remake them. Haven´t gotten to it yet. To be sure, I reuploaded single ztds of my last releases (Australia birds and ungulates), and it showed me that they were 2nd versions (so there had already been there). So which are missing? If you give me names, I´ll upload them there. Regarding me making more mods... I have some health issues (for more than a month now...) so my returning to converting animals to ZT1 is not in sight right now, unfortunately.

  14. Made some very subtle changes to the texturing. I'm really hoping this fixed some of the blurring, especially around the gargoyles. It might have lost some detail as a result, but what can ya do.

  21. Hello, gorgeous Tekkies! After a restless trip, I'm back at home (yes, my scrub foliage pack was made on my vacation). I managed to, for a moment, bring back my old laptop and I recovered some files from my first projects. I'm now able to rework most of them and FINALLY get rid of the invisible frame issue. For the next days, these will be updated: Peryton U.F.O. Irritator & Concavenator I'm appraising just graphical adjustments, but I'll dig a bit in my old configs and see if I find any issue that needs corrections. Stay tunned!

  22. I love all these new animals released in August, especially the 'murder bird'! These look great, and about time we got a boost for the dinos. Guests eyes should be popping out of their heads just to get a glimpse of them. Great work, everyone.

  26. I took a long break from my contest zoo. Today I braved the contest game and it crashed after about 15 seconds. I checked the saved game list and discovered a version saved 10 minutes earlier than the crashed game. I tried the earlier game version and it did not have the primate building. So I fixed the land, put on the primate building but did not remove any statues (keeping in mind the guest looking at an object factor). It did not crash. So back in business thanks to Jay and Fern. Hurrah!!!

  28. I really have wanted not to see the tanks at times so we have been experimenting. And this lovely screen of a manta ray is one of our results. It is really fun to watch the ray moving around feeding....But this is not what I meant. Here is a teaser for a couple of new things We are working on a few new things including new Atlantean stuff including a show tank. Some new rocky things that do things they are not supposed to. And more of my coloured things.

  30. Being grad/unemploy newborn was the best time of my early adulthood... Too bad it was in 2020 when the pandemics started... Anyhow... This tools is what I needed so badly... I have to jump from the limited string edition in APE to rotations in zoot and to batch conversion to ZTStudio HAHAHAH I'm probably asking too much, but if this tool was able to load non-indexed graphs and save them to 256 color pal without exploding, it would be peak! APE already does so, but then you have to go to zoot for rotations xd

  31. I graduated from grad school a few weeks ago and am now chronically unemployed. As such, have been working on a new APE tool, inspired by other tools from before like APE, APExp, Zoot, and ZT Studio. It will combine the best of Zoot and old APE by letting you generate, edit, and import configuration, as well as let you edit the graphics within the app. You'll be able to add shadow animations, background frames, and eventually I want to have it let you create color swatches and automatically reduce color count for you when you import PNG frames. Ideally you wouldn't have to edit in GIMP at all. I'm calling it APE Studio. Here it is so far: Current features: - imports zoo tycoon projects and automatically sorts them by type in a tree structure as shown above - lets the user edit their project config all within the GUI - can automatically read in all available lang dll files in the zoo tycoon install folder and let you search IDs from inside of the app Currently working on improving the lang file browser. I'm trying to get it so you can search IDs and strings from a searchbar and filter by dll file.

  33. Some random thought I had yesterday... A new dinosawr for you all: Blitzprojekt 04 Haast's Eagle. Compatible with Borsato's South Island giant moa! ~ Screech ~ To the biggest Eagles fan I ever met, my father Is that time of the year and, for me, is my first time going into the woods of the Island with companion. Going throughout it alone was dreadful, but today I can not feel more concerned. We are all aware that The Wild is cold and feelingless, but sometimes I find it quite cruel and ruthless. A race for your life is exciting when you're young and strong, but actual horror comes from the life of the ones you care about. The praire is nothing like that maze of torment that lies inside the woods. We need to go far deep inside the nooks drawn by roots and branches in order to find a worth meal, but The Wild, sometimes cruel and ruthless, resulted to put our greatest feast inside a trap where we are the dessert of others. The Wild, so wise and clever but also got a dark sense of humour. That screech. That hideous noise is the call of our nightmares. Once you listen to it, you better start lashing the ground towards the praire no matter how, no matter what, no matter who is left behind. Those devilish abominations let their massive bodies drop from the highest branches, covering us with their endless shades. Only a mat of scarlett stained feathers embellishes the place where The Wild unleashed its show. I can barely eat. The branches and leaves fall from my beak as I rather have a look out while my offspring and my mate have theirs. Lack of nourishment is lack of strenght to flee of the screech. It is not a deal if the screech deafens the woods or not, but when will it do is the actual motif. The screech is a fact, not a likelihood. Then, I better unfold my senses after it. They know the mark. Even the slightest sound that resembles the screech means the beginning of the maneuver. Once I start moving towards the shore as fast as my feet let me, I expect them to follow me. There is no time to explain. They know the safe spot and I hope we all meet there soon. All of my feathers tremble when I notice a worst thing than one of those screeches. A second screech. It seems that I'm not the only one who is teaching their child how to reach food and survive The Wild today. As immediate as I can, I look back when I reach the safe spot. Following my steps, one of my children arrives to the place. After that, the woods turn silent and we start the step of the journey back to the praire. My son is not wondering why we are not waiting for its mother or its sibling. Today, two children learnt how to get their meal and survive The Wild. However, mine is about to endure a harder lesson of life from now onwards. Its prefered foliage item is my cabbage tree. Also needs LANG--ZBorsato.dll for location. If you do not have them installed, the plaque will look empty. Thanks to Serpyderpy who suggested the color palette for this one! Thanks for downloading Haast's eagle in early access! File removed Aug 25th, 2026. Available here! Have a nice download! 🦅🦅

  35. A zoo featuring animals that lived in the famous Hell Creek Formation, 66 million years ago. Next to the entrance are a photo area where visitors can pose with an Acheroraptor and a playground on the opposite side. The gift shop is themed after Montana fossil sites. One of the first exhibits that greet visitors are the gentle and adorable Thescelosaurus. Next to them is a building that houses smaller Hell Creek fossil fauna, including an aviary for the pterosaur Infernodrakon. Right across from the Thescelosaurus exhibit is the mighty Tyrannosaurus. Next on the tour is Ankylosaurus. Right across from this Cretaceous tank is another icon of its time, the Triceratops. Triceratops isn't the only Ceratopsian here, there is also Torosaurus. Pachycephalosaurus completes the Marginocephalian trio. Across from this area is an exhibit for Ornithomimus. And the Ornithomimus enclosure is surrounded by an observation area for the Edmontosaurus enclosure. And behind this you'll find the mosasaur exhibit.

  39. Many thanks, everyone! I might join the contests once I feel fully recovered, for now though I'll just play around to relax without deadlines, but I definitely want to in the future. @Zarawatto I'm not really desperate for it, just needed a building to fill some space. The terrain in there is similar to what Buffzoo's Hell Creek animals need, just on way smaller space. A Nanotyrannus mod would be cool, especially now that the controversy is pretty much over and settled. If I were to make an aviary animal suggestion though, you could make a Microraptor, if you feel like making one. There are already so many Liaoning fossil animals modded in, but not that one, outside of a Caudipteryx recolour. Maybe something to consider if you want to do a sequel to Unlimited Feather Overload.

  41. Thanks! The red station where guests get on the safari busses is created by combining the train stop from Jane's Birmingham Zoo Train Pack with the ZTU Belgium Jurassic Park gate and the Brick Fortified Wall Setting Pack by RDingFT. The Brick Fortified Wall Setting Pack is also used for the zoo entrance, along with a safari billboard by Jane. The building that follows right after the entrance is a kiosk that functions as a gift store building. I forgot where I downloaded it however, probably at ZooAdmin back then.

  44. I found this effect by accident last night. I basically was putting algae from here over water and didn't realize I had a block of aquatic ground mix from this pack underneath it. I decided to play around to see what the other ground cover paths look like with it and found some cool effects. Here's some of the ones I've tested that I like. The other pics are it in use with rainforest restroom/attractions areas.

  45. Reloading marine files is going well. Visiting Zooberry and other places is quite nice. Still dearly love the Peryton animal creation. (swoon) And this has encouraged me to do clean up many duplicate files I have in other labeled groupings. Plus listen to great singer, songwriter, musician concert videos on their own channels while I "mop up". Also on YouTube a great refurbished Canadian documentary series their on home grown musicians, singers that is releasing a new part every week.

  46. I think there is a setting in the code for animals that determines how "attractive" ithey are, meaning how much the guests will enjoy seeing each animal. I took advantage of this feature to test if tour guides were really worth it. I used the wildebeest instead of the African lion because the guests didn't really care for the wildebeest. In contrast, they all love the lion! If you'd like to know, the tour guide did increase guest happiness when all the people had to gawk at was a lame undulate.
