I really have wanted not to see the tanks at times so we have been experimenting. And this lovely screen of a manta ray is one of our results. It is really fun to watch the ray moving around feeding....But this is not what I meant. Here is a teaser for a couple of new things We are working on a few new things including new Atlantean stuff including a show tank. Some new rocky things that do things they are not supposed to. And more of my coloured things.7 points

As some of you already know, I left this for a while since my old PC just went way old to support new updates. Bad for me, I had all the design tools there and honestly I don't remember at all how to configure it that way again. But about these screens, I started years ago the mexican park with the workbench of the cenote I uploaded to ZooBerry, but the saved file is, again, in my old laptop. However, I'll eventually start it again... If I made it once, I sure can repeat it and even better! So, this is some relief for the pending mexican zoo I never finished: General view of the map Hawkkeye's White nosed coati Hawkkeye's Nine banded armadillo Hawkkeye's Gila monster Hawkkeye's Virginia oppossum & my own ringtail Hawkkeye's Military macaw Hawkkeye's American flamingo Hawkkeye's Ocelot LapisLazuli's Common vampire BlueFang's Mountain lion My next idea for a great zoo is the Indian theme! However, I'm missing some animal ideas. Any suggestions? Nice summer to everyone! 🌅🌅7 points

Because it may take a while to finish what I am working on, I figured out you guys could use a little treat meanwhile. Has been a long time since the whale. https://khaydarmods.blogspot.com/2026/01/bactrian-camel-domestic.html This a import from model assets made by Blue Fang themselves for the now defunct mobile game known as Zoo Tycoon Friends. Quite proud of those animations.6 points

We thought it would be fun to make a sort of utility/sustainability pack with solar panels and windmills. All or most of our items will generate passive income when placed. There's no set scope for the pack, but below are the graphics we have finished so far. Names not final for most. (Solar panels) (Medium wind turbine) (Small wind turbine) (Dutch windmill) Credits: - Vondell: solar panels, medium wind turbine, small turbine - Goosifer: dutch windmill Tools: - Blender5 points

Hi, I'm Buffzoo ((if you're on the Zoo Tycoon Downloads Facebook page, you might recognize the name!). Although I haven’t posted here before, I’ve been actively modding Zoo Tycoon for over a year now, and I’m excited to finally share some of my work with you! Most of the models and textures have been edited by me to better suit the style and limitations of ZT1. Some projects are collaborations — like the Kelp Forest Pack created with Serpyderpy — while others, like Dzungarotherium, are commissioned skins (this particular skin by GameVideosForLife) that I’ve rigged and edited to fit the game. As I’ve created a bunch of ZT2 mods (Thanks to my talented friends, such as MajorGalah, IrritatingFish, Casus and SharkingAround), some of these mods are simply ported over. If you're interested, you can check out and download all my mods by opening the attached PDF and clicking on the Download button — it will redirect you to my Google Drive. Just a heads-up: some of the earlier mods were experimental pieces from when I was still learning the ropes of ZT1 modding. Huge thanks to Serpyderpy, Khaydar, and Goosifer for helping me out during that learning phase — their guidance made a big difference! Props to Hendrix for the bfb ZT tool. Zoo Tycoon Downloads Mini App.pdf Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the content!5 points

Thank you! I think I'm going to scrap the remaining two items. I just can't think of an interesting direction to take the water cooler or the zookeeper rest area. If I can come up with new ideas, I'll likely revisit this pack and expand on it. Will be working on configurations and graphics updates on everything for release. Also: big surprises coming soon! Two fun collaborations I can't wait to share with y'all.5 points

Previous post 👈 Hey everyone! So, haven’t posted or been around much in a while, and it’s because I’ve been quite busy with Uni up until lately. This will definitely be my last update on the Africa Zoo, and I’ll get into why at the end, but for now we’ll take a look at what I put together I last did this work in April, where funnily enough I managed to bash it out in just a few hours. For the connecting expansion, which would finally reunite both sides of the zoo at the far end, I decided to make a warthog and baboon land exhibit. Surroundings this would be an islanded flamingo exhibit, mainly since that was the only amphibious African animal so far not represented in the zoo. The flamingo one is inspired by wetlands, specifically beachey areas with sandbanks. In that regard, really wanted to experiment with introducing terrain height for an animal that normally doesn’t require/like it in an exhibit. Was going to split the two land-animal enclosures, but decided to try them as one: I definitely wanted to make this one a bit more dynamic than the last few expansions, so designed these boardwalks that “push-in” to the space. It also helps make it a bit more rounded and intuitive for guests, and as the animals were smaller space was less of a concern Once everything had been sorted out design wise, I set about adding the amenities. Even with plenty of those on either side of the zoo, it wouldn’t hurt to make this a mini central hub: Then it was on to the flamingos! I did have to do some terrain editing and remove the various water reeds I’d added to each corner, but otherwise they were happy enough (and thankfully the raised island didn’t seem to bother them): Baboons came second. I’d forgotten that they need a wooden shelter, but other than that they were quite satisfied: Warthogs came next, and were even more suited to what I’d made. That being said, there was a discrepancy between the baboons and warthogs on exactly how much dirt there should be, but I managed to find a happy balance in the end Once all the animals were settled, there wasn’t anything else to sort out. With the game left unpaused, both sides of the zoo filled in to view the latest arrivals, as well as see the elephants and giraffes side by side: Now onto the bad news: I didn’t boot up the game for some months after this whilst I finished up my University work (it was my final year), and once I tried to again the game wouldn’t launch It wasn’t the fault of the game though (trust me, tried repeatedly reinstalling and patching and all sorts). Rather my Windows laptop was starting to fail, and was becoming borderline unusable for anything. Sadly, it’s now become so bad that it no longer even turns on. I do have a MacBook Pro so my computer needs are sorted, but as Mac isn’t typically backwards compatible I’m not sure if it could run its port of ZTCC (and I’m generally unfamiliar with gaming on Mac as a whole) Will try and look into it, but right now my only real output is the DS version. But as everything runs from an external drive, I’m happy to announce that all the save files are safely backed up in multiple places My only regret with this zoo is that I never figured out a good way to include leopards, and the two grassy spots near the entrance remain completely empty. I’ve bounced around the idea of making them into scenic mini mountains (perhaps with a public walking path) or maybe leopard and atlas bear exhibits, but that’ll have to wait until I can get back to it :T Still, I’m glad I saved all these screenshots. I didn’t run the game for too long after, so never got to see the flamingos multiply (or introduce the modded cranes that I was considering), but as a proof of concept it works super well, even for a small expansion like this 👍 In terms of future posts, I have some insights into ZTDS that I’d love to share with you at some point. I’d also love to share the save files I have for this zoo, is there a specific protocol for sharing those here or could I attach them to this post? EDIT: Sorry for the odd discrepancy at the beginning. The first half of the post vanished for no reason, so had to hastily redo it I also have no idea what these screenshots at the bottom are doing here. I’ve tried deleting them multiple times but they’re constantly there, so enjoy them I guess?5 points

Hi everyone, I’m really happy to finally be part of the Zoo Tek Phoenix community! I’ve been a long-time fan of Zoo Tycoon. My name is Miguel Ángel. I’m excited to download some mods to enhance my zoos. I used to play the game as a child, and now I’ve started playing it again. I really enjoy trying to create the perfect exhibits. Thanks to the admins for having me. Best regards, Miguel Ángel4 points

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been as active as I was on here. I was going through a heart monitor study for SVT (arrythmia) and I also had some other personal life things going on outside of ZT1. I am going to put the new bird zoo on the back burner for now (it's not cancelled!) and hold off on making more zoos until Hawkeye's Australian bird pack is released (super excited about this one). I have completed two zoos recently, one being the Surf 'N' Turf scenario (this one was fun to build!) and one that is themed off of the Pacific Northwest using the Marine Mania 'Islands' map. I'm also planning on making an African and Australian themed zoo in the future using a majority of my African and Australian savannah animals. Even though I already made a smaller African savannah zoo before, I really want to try out the 'Ancient Land's' zoo map and build the ultimate African/Australian hybrid zoo. I feel like my zoo building skills are starting to improve. I've been watching The Checkered Cheetah's/Thunder 55's videos on YouTube to get inspiration and I felt like I've gotten the hang of building amazing yet efficient zoos. 😊❤️4 points

Well I have finally done it. DD now has lists of all Hawkkeye critters up to December 2025. This should help people find a file. The lists are pinned at the top of each category. It includes the name, uca, ztd name, Habitat, and country. And in the categories I have grouped the types together. So all the dogs are together, all the foxes are together, etc Example: Armadillo Brazilian Three-Banded Armadillo hwbtbarm.uca brazilian three banded armadillo.ztd Desert South America Nine-Banded Armadillo hwnbarm.uca ninebanded armadillo.ZTD Grassland Eastern USA Northern Naked-Tailed Armadillo hwnntarm.uca northern naked tailed armadillo.ztd Rainforest South America4 points

Hello! I bought Zoo Tycoon 1 in Circuit City around the time it came out in early 2002 (I've never forgotten saving my allowance up for the $32) and I've been hooked ever since playing it on and off over the years! I still play 1 and 2 using my scratched up but still working perfect disks. I only thought to look for ZT2 mods in 2025, and then ZT1 mods this year and found this site. Looking forward to adding new things to my favorite game!4 points

For those that may not know, gem_del_mar (Gem, Brenda Gibson) was once an active member here at Tek. She was my "partner in crime" for several years. She and her dad live in Landers, California. They are both in the hospital right now. A few days ago, their house caught fire and burnt to the ground. They evacuated but suffered some burns but we don't yet know to what extent. When Brandi or I find out more, we'll keep you updated. If you are a prayer warrior, please say a prayer for them for quick healing.4 points

That´s just convinced me to release the beavers even more. I was able to save them, and I just need to decrease the size of one of them, and maybe switch their species. But Zarawatto is working on a beaver lodge and dam... May the god be with his hdd.4 points

Tamales are definitely had in Guatemala but they're very different. Theirs is made in banana leaf instead of corn husk which, in part, gives the tamale a completely different texture: They also use different filling and spices. They do use corn husks though for another kind of tamales that are tiny ones called chuchitos and wrapped kind of candy wrapper style. I guess you can pretend the ones I made are chuchitos since they're corn husk yellow too haha. I've tried the banana leaf ones and they taste different from Mexican tamales, but they're still sooo good. Most latin american countries have their own take on the same concept.4 points

Wow, a whole year without playing. A lot occurred between the last time I posted and now. Some good, much of it bad, and very private. There is a lot I do not think I will share publicly for reasons related to PTSD, but the important thing is I am here now and ready to share my love of Zoo Tycoon with everyone again. I built the entrance around the idea of fresh garden greenery, staff services and a bustling market. Many of you will recognize rdingft's AOE pieces right off the bat, and I personally don't think they get the credit they deserve for how beautiful these scenery pieces are. They are non-functional but help to create the illusion that the zoo market is more active than it really is. To the left of the Staff and Service building, we can see a farm where much of the produce is grown. I had great fun with this section in particular. I wanted it to look as though the land were being diligently tended to and I think I achieved that. Moving on to animals, I want to first zoom in on @Serpyderpy's Sinoceratops. One of the reasons I always sink my dinosaur exhibits into the ground is because I'm paranoid of them bursting out once the fences get weak. It gives me peace of mind and helps me focus on decorating. (As a side note, I need to download some neutral-marked rock mods...) The sinoceratops are very laid-back and easy to take care of. I had virtually no issue providing them with what they needed. The babies are adorable and the adults are intimidating and magnificent. I'm excited to see more from them. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who doesn't want a fussy species to look after. If you're easily overwhelmed, they won't give you any trouble. As these are herd dinosaurs, make sure you give them plenty of space. They like company. When I learned that this was a Chinese-discovered species, I knew I had to put a rdingft scenery building in their exhibit. This building is called the "Temple of Heaven" and is probably my favorite of his mods as far as reconstructed temples go. I think the screenshot speaks for itself. It is to die for. Total # of Sinoceratops: 4 (3 adults, 1 extra adopted baby. No births yet.) Moving on, I want to showcase my favorite animal mod right now: @Buffzoo's Dinocrocuta. Hyenas are among my most favorite living animals, and I was ecstatic to discover that they made an extinct hyena - and a giant one, no doubt. Their exhibit, like the Sinoceratops above, was a labor of love. I cherished making this. I especially want to zoom in on the dead gazelle statue, which I believe came from an AOE2 statue pack. The reason for this statue's placement is that I wanted to create a more realistic setting for my carnivorous animals, which I have neglected in the past. Perhaps this "animal" was a fresh kill, a demonstration from the keepers to show interested zoo guests how the animal hunts and feeds. I hid the "carcass" in tall grass, to simulate how many extant predatory species will hide their kills to prevent other predators in the area from stealing. (Some grass was deleted for better viewing) I love these hyenas, and I'm very proud of this exhibit. There is more, but I MUST go to bed. It is after 1 in the morning and I can't stay up any longer. For any interested, these hyenas were extremely easy to take care of. They gave me no issues whatsoever. Great animal for beginner players who want well-behaved, laid-back animals. Total # of Dinocrocuta: 4 (2 adults, 1 adopted cub with the 'allow purchasing young hack.' 1 given birth naturally. Slow birth rate..) That is all for now. Enjoy!4 points
