Guest vickiesunflower Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 i followed the link you gave me genki for all the awards and decided to make a zoo trying to get all the awards listed, well as many as i can get. but even the large maps just dont seem big enough. ive printed off every award so i have them to look back at for reference. i just got the bronze shark statue, but already dont have that much room left in my zoo. i need a bigger map. this is going to take forever.

Oh it won't take forever Sunflowers I did it once so I am positive you can do it too we can work it out by msn too if you like It is one of the nicest challenges I ever accomplished
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 We have a habit of making nice LARGE exhibits for our animals, but some of them really don't need much room at all. Try making your exhibits smaller - there really is plenty of room, even on a medium map
Guest vickiesunflower Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 i guess i just always assumed that especially dinos needed more room than any other animals just due to their sheer size. after building the 3 shark exhibits i didnt really have much zoo left, but i have come up with an idea. how about i build the exhibits i need to get my awards, and then once ive got the recommended awards i scrap the exhibits and then build the new ones i would need for the next award>???
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 You could do that... but remember, a lot of animals are compatible, even if they say they're not! I think the bongo and okapi say they don't like each other, but they go just fine together. As for the sharks, you can put them ALL in the same exhibit except for the great white - they're finicky and will quickly eat your other sharks >_<
Guest vickiesunflower Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 yeah whats going on with the great whites? they are never happy, especially not if your doing a show with them,. stupid sharks. so maybe i will do that idea.
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I neverrrr do a show with the great whites!! They get upset WAY too easily! Make their exhibit as high suitability-wise as you can, then pick up the marine specialist, drop 'em in the tank, take 'em out and repeat until the sharks get to 100% happiness. After that, they'll only get upset if they feel too crowded (by guests or too many animals in the tank) or if they have a dirty tank :)
Guest vickiesunflower Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 thats one thing i am not experienced with, combined exhibits. i suppose your right, if i put more than one kind of animal in an exhibit, i can save on space that way. but then will that count towards the awards?
(Trustee)genkicoll Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 As long as both (or each) species have high enough suitabilities, it should be fine. You were worried about fitting a lot of exhibits into one zoo, and combining exhibits is a good way to do it. Here's an easy way to combine exhibits: Find two animals that are compatible, such as the bengal tiger and white bengal. Make their exhibits side-by-side, getting the suitability on each as high as you can, then delete the fence separating the exhibits. Double-check their suitabilities, and tweak as needed
Guest vickiesunflower Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 oh thanks for the tips, i iwll try it out later on tonight when i get a chance to build. (have to make sure the rugrat is fast asleep first). :whistilin:
