Infortunately shares the same story with the elephant, and his horns are prized by poachers. These creatures are believed to be extinct in what was once their home, all across Africa, and now live in sparse locations. It is surprising to see one in this area. Rasun37 Posted January 17, 2013 Author Share Posted January 17, 2013 Another noise startled me and I saw a Caracal emerging from the brush! Perhaps it had been hunting the aardvark. I was unsure, but it was time to leave the area. I needed to catch my private flight to the Ahaggar Mountains, a large mountainous part of the rocky desert in the very center of the Sahara! Let's get a closer look... Wow.. yet another endangered animal, this one with few individuals in the wild. Here, I spot a pregnant mother, a joyful sight.
