Rasun37 Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Pretty common Rhim gazelles grazed nearby as well..
Rasun37 Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 A personal favorite of mine shocked me with its appearance! A small family of Scimitar Horned Oryx, which are classified as extinct in the wild, approached the oasis as well! Reintroduction programs across the Sahara have proven successful!
Rasun37 Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Hidden in a shallow pool and by some rocks I found a family of African Spurred Tortoise! These adorable fellows are the third largest species of tortoise in the world!
Rasun37 Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Hidden in some rocks and soil I found the adorable family of Fennec Foxes! These cute critters are my last sighting here in the hot Ahaggar. I'm off to see the environment where Sahara meets Sahel, which is home to a large variety of animals!
