YoungerPrinceLothric Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I did not realize until now that Heather had already answered your question, sorry about that 😅 1
YoungerPrinceLothric Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 ⚠Spam Incoming!⚠ Today we have a section of the zoo dedicated to birds! The idea came to me during housecleaning one morning: What if I put a 'grid' of birds around the in-game aviary as a sort of 'showcase?' The idea has been tweaked since the original inception, but I'm still very proud of how it's turning out! Hawkkeye has released bundle after bundle of birds and I want to make sure I put them to good use. The following screenshots are taken with foliage turned off so you can actually SEE the animals ^From the left, in the snowy white exhibit: Kelp Gull, Common Peafowl (rainforest), Okarito Kiwi (coniferous), Madagascan Ibis (deciduous) A better view of the Ibis and Phoenix Chicken (grassland) more closeups As far as animal behavior goes? These guys are awesome. And! Some notes: the Kelp Gulls and Okarito Kiwis wanted cliffs and hills which made me nervous because cliffs and hills in an aviary exhibit can look awkward and everything doesn't line up correctly. I've yet to find a solution to this. Luckily, these guys both have nearly 100 suitability with perfectly flat terrain! Both are at precisely 95. 3
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Love this idea and it turned out beautifully! When I have an animal that wants elevation but it wouldn't look quite right, I pull down the terrain in some areas, maybe put any needed water at the bottom of 'dip'. Not sure if this would work with the aviary, but probably some tiles in the middle could be lowered. Just a thought. 1

And many other birds are coming, because I love aviaries, especially mixed ones. 3

pukkie Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 and you do not get the There are too many animals in this exhibit message?
YoungerPrinceLothric Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 I made that particular exhibit VERY big to keep that message from happening. I'm not at my desk at the moment but I will post overhead views of the exhibit as a whole before the night is over 👍
