Polish always make me laugh. Poor things.

Hens have more of a squarish tail while roosters have the more 'rounded' fancy tail (and tend to be iridescent if you go by my lot), and are a little bigger.

The poor silky roos keep getting called shes as they don't look rooster-ish.

Sit? You mean the motion to sit? No. I can try. But with the silky's 'bellbottoms' it's hard to define those movements. Same with scratch. I think the barelegged birds will be easier in that manner. I'm going to have a trying time making the black ones look like more than shadows.

I haven't even thought this far yet. But should they have stationary eggs or little 'dots' running around (like the peafowl) for offspring?

I am a member, but not an active one. I was actually going to pop on over there and ask about painted silkies. Never got around to it.

It would be interesting if they could lay an egg and then the egg hatch into a chick that grows up but that would require DD? Or maybe not. I think the African Spurred Tortoise hatches from an egg and a keeper takes care of them.

Yes I can see where feathered legs are going to make certain animations harder to do. Didn't think about that at first.

Are you going to make them a hen house shelter or will they use one of the ingame ones? Someone (Brandi maybe) has a hen house as a scenery item. Maybe that could be configured...

Just recently (within the last month or so) someone brought up painted silkies. Will have to see if I can find the topic...

Polish do make me giggle a bit. They are just so cute and awkward. I had a Buff-laced roo that was adorable.

You think your Silkie roos have it bad. Imagine what the poor Showgirl roosters feel. The poor dears probably need counseling.

I'd rather keep it the chick or the egg. I don't feel like messing with the coding for the DD egg mechanics and I'd like to keep it compatible with the original. I know Genki/Jay/Fern could tell me how to do it right off the bat, but if you want it release this century I say keep it simple. I have a nack for messing up these things.

Actually, I sorta like the thought of little fuzzballs running around. Though with the chickens with the colored eggs...

The chicken coop was something briefly discussed. If I do make one, it'll probably just be an item they like rather than a shelter.

Is Brandi's coop exhibitable? I haven't gotten to play with it yet.

XD OMG, those poor chickens. Turkens, silkies...and then polish?

Chickens come in some wild forms. I bought some Aracaunas thinking they were Americaunas. Everytime I see their tailless behinds I keeping thinking something attacked them.

My little guy is more colored like a tuxedo cat. White toes and toe feathers, white belly, white 'wrist', white wing tips. Not sure what his face will look like, hasn't shed the baby fluff there yet. I've had them marked like that before as chicks, but non have retained that coloring except for him. I'm crossing my fingers.

All my silkies came from the farmer auction, so I have no doubt his parents are a cross between different breeds. I've bought silkies there that have grown the size of leghorns.

My favorite chicken breeds are Barred Plymouths and Easter Egg Chickens. And I didn't know Brandi had a chicken coop download. Is it a working piece of scenery?

I think Brandi's coop is scenery only and not an exhibit placeable item

Well, brief update. I have 'finished' the silky. Now I'm going to meddle with the contrast and see if the animation actually looks good. I might make a thread in Current Projects. XD I do believe this is where this should actually be right?

You can start a new thread, or I can move this thread and re-title it. Whichever you'd like :vishenka_34:

 I don't think P19 will mind in the slightest! The silkie is getting done, that's what's great!
