Russian steppes area. Saiga is on my todo list! I'll get at it at sometime... hello guys, my new post could mean only one thing... goodies! :) Already uploaded them and already ready for use in your zoos! Here we go: https://imgur.com/jL8Hsbc Barbary Ape: Highland, North Africa https://imgur.com/oWdnFMd Chamois: Highland, Europe https://imgur.com/Ir0aLL9 Ichthyosaurus: Aquatic, Atlantic Ocean, Jurassic Note: this is was my original first aquatic animal. It didn't come out bad, but wasn't really perfect. Still I didn't want it to remain confinated to my pc, so I released it. https://imgur.com/Ir0aLL9 Indian Gharial: Rainforest, India Note: and this was one of the early attempts for swimming animals. The swimming animation makes it almost invisible. Unfortunately, like for the Marina Iguana, it has the same bug when swims in a tank. For the same reason of the Icthyosaurus I didn't want it to make dust in my pc, so I still released it. https://imgur.com/MJ5UVio Maned Wolf: Savannah, South America https://imgur.com/ZTSuq9v Marco Polo Sheep: Highland, Asia https://imgur.com/GbspzTn Northern Racoon: Decidous Forest, North America https://imgur.com/6KSj5Ot Ring Tailed Lemur: Rainforest, Africa That's it for this month. See ya next month! EDIT: Added some notes about the Indian Gharial and Ichthyosaurus. Also replaced images with links. For some reason the upload images disappeared :( 1 2
(Designer)Khaydar Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Very interesting choice of species, can't wait to use your ichtyosaurus. For the gharial I may have a trick: the limit underwater/surface is determined with the height position of the armature not the mesh. In other words just move up your mesh without moving the armature. If my explanation is confusing I can show you pictures.
caddienoah Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Thank you for the new animals...looking forward to the next set!!!
Hawkkeye666 Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Great animals! Good to see some more crocodilians, big canids and primates - there are very little of them in ZT now. I especially like marco polo sheep, raccoon, barbary ape and ichthyosaurus (continutation of your tradition of terrific marine reptiles). I´ve found some bugs: Ichthyosaurus - They seem to be ´moved down´. When you put them into exhibit, they appear very down under the cursor, and if you click on them, there won´t be any picture of them in circle on top of specific animal info window. - Maybe Europe would be better location for them - when they were living, Atlantic ocean started to form (and Pacific already existed), but it was quite unrecognizable. Gharial - swim animation not in tank makes them practically invisible (this doesn´t happen with your marine iguanas - you can see more of them when they swim) - Their food is meat in game, should be fish. Barbary ape - why salt water in their exhibit? They live in Gibraltar, but that is introduced population (and genetic evidence has showed, that this is not remnant of pleistocene barbary ape population of europe, just descendants of african monkeys) and bulk of populations is living in north african mountains, inland. I hope you will continue with great work - I love your animals (even when I´m nitpicking them often:)
HeatherL Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 1. Thank you for such an awesome raccoon! They are native to my area & I've always been fascinated by them. I don't know why one wasn't done for ZT already. 2. erased 3. The Ichthyosaurus is awesome. The only issue is the one listed above. I feel like they are hanging from my cursor by a string. (Fishing for Ichy anyone? ) 4. I think the Gharial is beautiful, but I had few issues: - when swimming on the surface, they appear to have 2 tails, one above and one below the surface. -when walking on land, they take a few steps then skip back 1/2 a tile fairly frequently. -they get stuck in the tank, they swim for a while then just stop... Oops, sorry the Sunfish is Khaydars, I downloaded and tested them at the same time!
Rinding FT Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 hello Borsato, I can't see all review pics of the animals like Barbary ape in your post on this page, the pic link seems like got error??
Borsato Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 Yes, the image link were broken. I replaced them with an imgur link. Now they should be visible by clicking on them. I also added some notes about Ichthyosaurus and Indian Gharial. They are in truth "experiments" and I felt somehow wrong about not sharing them. They will not break the game or something, but they will seem a little funny. Still thanks everyone for the support and help... and also some clarification for Hawkeye: Ok for Indian Gharial about fish instead of meat. For Ichtyosaurus i thought about Atlantic Ocean because fossils of the reptile were found in both Europe and North America. But effectively the most well known are in Europe, so.. ok for Europe :) For the Barabry Ape is because of Gibraltar. Like Blue Fang did the same for the Komodo Dragon, I thought that could be applied to the Barbary Ape also. I'll try to remake both of them for the next release, with some other content (maybe). We will see!
Hawkkeye666 Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 I have raccoon in my zoo (incredibly cute!), and they seem to have a little strange shelter preferences - they like stable the most, and dislike burrow. PS: couldn´t find any Ichthyosaurus fossils from America. But this can be because Ichthyosaurus is name widely used for all members or Ichthyosauria, so searching is quite difficult and full of articles about more or less related species. And of course couldn´t wait for your new release, your animals are awesome:)
