It is update time!

I've corrected the Rockhopper Penguin swim animation. You can find the v2 uploaded :)

For the dingo... I'll think about it.

Returning on topic...

first release is another pack completed: Wonderful Wings!

WW_pack.png.9b386adf9cccf52b23efca247c86fa07.png

The pack contains for this habitats:

Savannah: Darwin's Rhea (South America)

Decidous Forest: Barn Owl (Europe)

Confierous Forest: Eagle Owl (Eurasia)

Rainforest: BlueGold Macaw (South America), Rhinoceros Hornbill (Southeast Asia), Golden Conure (South America), Scarlet Ibis (South America), Kagu (Many Tropical Oceans), Nicobar Pidgeon (Southeast Asia), Southern Cassowary (Australia)

Tundra: Snowy Owl (Artic), Red-crowned Crane (Asia)

Desert: Californian Condor (North America)

Aquatic: Saddle-billed Stork (Africa), Humboldt Penguin (South America), Black-faced Spoonbill (Asia)

As single downloads today I release:

NR.png.541194b81c74f3ba8542bc3e18d49e42.png

Blue Marlin: Aquatic, Many Oceans

Carcharodontosaurus: Coniferous Forest, Africa, Cretaceous (DinoDanger Cretaceous)

Chiru: Highland, Himalaya (Endangered Animals)

Fennec Fox: Desert, North Africa (Endangered Animals)

Homalocephale: Highland, Asia, Cretaceous (DinoDanger Cretaceous)

Patagonian Mara: Savannah, South America

Perentie: Desert, Australia (Reptile Pack)

Quokka: Savannah, Australia

Warrah: Grassland, South America (Extinct Species)

Happy download!

Awesome animals! Great choices

Suggestions:

Patagonian Mara: I think it will be better to change their reproduction system. In reality, maras are very monogamous (females have very short oestrus), and in captivity, they can produce young 4 times a year, 1 or rarely 2 in wild. They have 1-3 youngs in every pregnancy, mostly 2, so I think 2 young instead of 4, and shorter time between births will simulate their captive breeding better.

Nicobar pigeon: now they have 2 youngs, normally they have 1.

Warrah: They do not like Beach grass, which I think will the best simulate their native environment.

FOR PLAYERS:

Most liked plants:

Nicobar pigeon: Rainforest fern

Barn owl: decidious bush

Warrah: broadleaf bush

Quokka: eucalyptus

Compatibility:

Blue marlin is compatible with ingame swordfish, bluefin tuna and Khaydar´s sunfish.

Normally I don't do un update with such a short time, but I wanted to share something that I'm working on... and it seems working quite nicely :D

I think an Image has more value then a thousand words in this case :)

Wow, this opens so many possibilities, how did you managed to do this? Did you modified the core files?

Posted

For the cEra ID it is just a STRING message in a custom lang.dll, while for the cLocation it is a combination of STRING messages, generation of the Zoo Tycoon graphic and the extension of a configuration core file in a usual .ztd.

Unfortunately Zoo Tycoon uses always the last iteration found of this file, so this means that more iterations of the same file makes the game override one over another.

Also Habitats seems to work in the same way.

Before releasing a pseudo-guide or something similiar to it I want to complete a series of tests on the image generation. Finished that, I will share all of my findings and a complete example of the work done.

In description of Nicobar pigeon, there´s line that it is nocturnal, which isn´t true. Source: wikipedia, as always. I thank her for all my degrees.

Corrected Nicobar Pidgeon long help text.

Patagonian Mara now has only two babies for offspring

Warrah now likes the Beach Grass

Everything already uploaded and ready :)

hello everyone,

it passed a lot of time since my last updated, and I sincerely say I'm sorry to have waited so much for an updated.

Unfortunately things come and go, and that also is true for creativity and inspiration on creating Zoo Tycoon animals and objects.

Because of this I decided to make one last upload on Mega with everything I hadn't uploaded since my last update... ok here we go.

First, this content will be found in this folder: https://mega.nz/#F!OD50jaZb!xy-29-4HVqfH00cvwyCCgw

There is really a lot of things... but we will see them in order.

Animals

Cape Barren Goose, Australia, Savannah

Emu, Australia, Savannah

Hoatzin, South America, Rainforest

Inca Tern, Pacific Ocean, Aquatic

Kakapo, New Zeland, Coniferous Forest (needs ui99.ztd and LANG--ZBorsato.dll)

Marsh Harrier, Europe, Aquatic

Nilgai, India, Savannah

Red River Hog, Africa, Rainforest

Takahe, Grassland, New Zeland (needs ui99.ztd and LANG--ZBorsato.dll)

Objects and Buildings (needs LANG--ZBorsato.dll)

JPOGItems pack:

Speaker

Trashcan

Information Board

Parasaurolophus Fountain

Jurassic Park Burger Stand

Security Camera

Jurassic Park Gift Stand

Jurassic Park Bathroom

The DLL contains the buildings and trashcan messages.

Hacks:

ui99ztd + LANG--ZBorsato.dll

This is what, I can call, a breakthrought. As already explained above I was able to add strings and images for new Eras and Locations.

To make it work, ui99.ztd must be the last file loaded by the game. In this way overrides the other ui*.ztd standard file. The DLL contains the Eras and Locations strings.

I have updated a lot of my animals with the new locations, but I have preferred to not re-release them to not break any savegames. But the two new animals (Kakapo and Takahe) uses one of my new locations.

So for developers who are interested on using the new locations and eras, the codes are the following:

image.png.d7d4119355d6010d3827e0bd6c75c125.png

image.png.3ef2abc399267905c41a25238c320ff1.png

DDvarPatch (needs ui99.ztd + LANG--ZBorsato.dll)

Contains some edits to "classic" Dinosaur Digs files.

Contains:

- Already release Velociraptor\Deinonychus patch.

- Changed Caudipteryx Era from "Jurassic" to "Cretaceous"

- Make "Dinosaur Digs rocks" visible also from the Zoo Tycoon menu

- Changed era for this plants:

Sigillaria -> Carboniferous

Lepidodendron -> Carboniferous

Grass Tree -> Cretaceous (now is visible also from the DD menu)

Glossopteris -> Permian

Wallachia Coniferous Tree -> Permian

Club Moss Shrub -> Silurian

And with this... that's all folks!

It is sad to hear that you are ending with creating ZT animals. Maybe you will return to it in some time:)

I wish you good luck and want to thank you for gigantic amount of fun you have made for players of this game.

So, I wiped my tears and am going to nitpick last time:

Marsh Harrier babies are invisible.

Yup, that´s all. Just few suggestions:

Food for red river hog is hay, according to wikipedia they prefer fruits, tubers, etc. So, fruits and vegetable would be better, I think.

Food for hoatzin is hay, I think that grass and branches would be better (they are mostly leaf-eaters, sometimes they eat some flowers of, rarely, fruit).

And for players:

Emu is compatible with red kangaroo

Hoatzin with giant anteater, giant pangolin, southern anteater, toco toucan, south american coati.

Nilgai is compatible with blackbuck.

Takahe is compatible with southern island moa.

Kakapo can have 99 suitability with rainforest fern.

Red river hog with rainforest bush.

I'm sorry to hear this is your last hurrah, Borsato.  But never say never.  Zoo Tycoon is a game to come back to, over and over again.  We do hope you will still be with us here at Tek.  You are a part of the ZT community and always will be.
